🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️ Safer walking and cycling starts with better road maintenance.

Essex County Council's new 'Pothole? We're on it.' campaign is shining a spotlight on the work underway to repair roads across the county as part of the Pothole Emergency Programme.

Backed by a £7.5 million investment, additional repair crews are now working in every Essex district, borough and city area, helping to tackle more potholes and improve the condition of our roads.

While pothole repairs benefit all road users, they're particularly important for people who choose active travel. Better road surfaces can make walking, wheeling and cycling safer, more comfortable and more appealing, supporting our wider ambition to create healthier and more sustainable communities.

We're looking forward to seeing the positive impact these improvements have on everyday journeys across Essex.
