Living out our nerd dreams!! ✨🔮🍂🪾🍃 I had finished this watercolour of a hobbit hole just in time for HUM festival gallery- I had no idea that a couple of weeks later I’d end up on a very spontaneous adventure to in New Zealand 🥹✨ I’ve always wanted to go and am so so glad I got to experience it with this absolute gem of a human 🧡🌱✨

How it all began

I'm Annie and I make all the products you see here on the Mellow Tides Jewellery page 👋 I have always been happiest with a creative outlet and after deciding to drop out of my music degree I felt crazy lost 😔🌱 A friend of mine suggested jewellery making and I then ended up finding some beautiful pebbles on Brighton beach and that's where it all started really! 🌻 I decided to buy some wire and use some beaded necklaces I found in charity shops to wrap these stones! This then moved onto using abalone shell pieces and eventually crystals too! I have always been fascinated by how our earth can create such incredibly beautiful things, with such intricate and beautiful shapes, patterns, colours and iridescence 🌎✨ there's something crazy about it, and what better medium to use than what the earth gives us? I have also found much inspiration from many wild and creative countries around the world (especially, for me, India and Morocco🇮🇳🇲🇦) all the deep colours, colourful beads, metal work, array of materials and textures I am just in love with 🙈📿🌈 I always endeavour to integrate this into my work, particularly with my hoop earrings made with recycled Indian sari silk yarn. Often adorned with antique bells, charms and beads I have picked up on my travels🚶🌿

So I guess the essence of Mellow Tides Jewellery all comes down to recycling and reusing materials, nature's natural gems and boldness within creativity and expressive freedom 🍄🍋🍁 Grateful for the existence of creativity for keeping me sane and grounded! 🌱
