Zac enjoyed a fantastic afternoon on the dry fly, landing an impressive 4lb brown trout from Pontardulais Angling waters. The beautifully marked fish gave a memorable fight and is another outstanding catch for the club this season. Remarkably, this is now the third monster brown trout to be caught on Pontardulais Angling waters this year, highlighting the excellent quality of fishing on offer. A brilliant achievement and a day to remember — well done, Zac!

Craig Treharne enjoyed an unbelievable day’s fishing on Friday 1st May. It was only his third outing of the year, and remarkably, he had not fished the river for over 30 years.
With the river running low and clear at 0.7 on the Tir y Dail gauge, Craig used a team of two Mediflies on his 9ft #5 rod and managed to hook and land this monster brown trout measuring an impressive 25 inches from our Tynycerrig stretch.
Craig was absolutely delighted and thrilled with the fish, once again proving the incredible quality of trout this river continues to produce.
Well done, Craig — certainly a fish to remember 👍

We still have a limited number of permits available for the 2026 fishing season. If you’re thinking about joining, now is a great time to secure your place and enjoy everything the season has to offer on the water.
Whether you’re a returning angler or looking to become a member for the first time, we’d love to welcome you.
Membership Fees: • New Full Member – £75 (including £20 joining fee)
• Existing Member Renewal – £55
• New Senior Citizen Member – £40 (including £20 joining fee)
• Existing Senior Citizen Renewal – £20
• Junior Member (up to age 16) – £1

Yet another season draws to a close. I hope you all enjoyed your time on the river this season, even though the poor conditions we have had this year .

Please note that our waters closes for all species at midnight tonight. There is no winter fishing on our water whatsoever. I hope you all had a great season and hopefully see you on the river bank next year.
