Marketplace Studio is run by Manchester School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University. The studios provide School of Art graduate artists and designers with a place to set up their independent creative start-up businesses, while still being supported by the University through mentoring, business advice, talks and workshops. t have their creative businesses in the Studios upstairs. We have a community of designers, artists, illustrators, architects, textile makers, jewelers, animators (etc!) all starting up their new businesses in Stockport. Manchester Metropolitan University support these new businesses through mentoring, financial advice, business ‘bootcamps’ and links with Stockport Council and the local business community. The ground floor project space is for art, design and craft workshops for everyone – adults, teenagers and kids – from introductory courses to more advanced classes. There are evening classes, weekend courses, clubs and one-off events. Please see www.art.mmu.ac.uk/marketplace for details of our current programme. We also have a shop selling high quality art, design, fashion and craft all made by the best, most innovative new designers in the country. If you’re looking for a limited edition print, a hand-crafted ceramics or a one-off piece of jewellery, you’ll be able to find it in our shop! What would you like us to run here? MARKETPLACE STUDIOS STOCKPORT Marketplace Studio is an employability and enterprise initiative from Manchester School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University. The studios provide School of Art graduate artists and designers with a place to set up their independent creative start-up businesses, while still being supported by the University through mentoring, business advice, talks and workshops.
