Fridays’s 4x4 workshop was wonderful - eight mini Fen landscapes made in an hour.
Working from photos I’ve taken over the year and sketching in china, it’s an approach I’m going to explore further.

It’s that time again, tax return done, I sit down to produce a shed load of mini mosaics from all my favourite off cuts and think through plans for the year ahead.
I’ve finally got some dates for mosaic workshops, plans for some jewellery making with recycled silver because the bullion prices are quite frankly, scary, and a few ideas developing in my sketchbook for some enamelling.
January can be tough and long, so long, but I think I’ve found a positive way to get through it and no doubt will soon be asking how we’re in May already x

I’ve found a quiet week to finish a project I started a while ago - a table top inspired by these wonderful mosaics revealed at an old Catholic school building being demolished in Manchester.
I’m using tiles I have in stock so some of the colours aren’t quite right and of course I’d prefer to be using smalti but I think it’s going to be ok.

These mackerel went off to a new home today. Made originally for an exhibition organised by Biff Vernon, I wasn’t sure I wanted to sell them at all but a lovely couple fell in love with them and I couldn’t say no.
Yet again, didn’t take any decent pictures before they went 🙄

I’ve never had so many piles of half finished projects in the studio - I could really do with a few more days in the week (or fewer days spent in the fields with my detector😂)
