I love how my hand coloured aluminium can give such a great pop of colour to this sterling silvef tree of life. 😁

I've never seen a foxglove like this one in our garden before. They usually have bells of reducing size to the top of the stem, which gow bigger and open as the lower ones go to seed. Very strange.

I enjoyed this jigsaw so much that I've ordered another one from the same company. It's just a fun one, so I'll box it back up and pass it on. Then our friends can also share the smiles 😁

I have a very messy brain. Although I've never been formally diagnosed adhd, I seem to tick most boxes and I share many traits with friends / family who are known to be adhd. My school reports say I was easily distracted and prone to daydreaming.

Anyway, between that and the brain fog from my meds, it's meant that I've had to put things into place to help counteract my messy and forgetfull brain.

Who knows, someone out there might think 'ooh, that's a good idea', so I'm sharing some of my countermeasures here. 😆

I don't usually post twice in the same day - but garden is so pretty at the moment that I just wanted to share it with you. 😁

Hi everyone. Just a few tips to share today 😁

If a solder seam is curved and quite long, it's important to make sure the curves match, as solder isn't for filling gaps. When it's a ring, you can't lay one end over the other to scribe the curve, unless you want shape the ring then open it up again afterwards. I prefer to use a circle template to match the existing curve and then use it to scribe the curve at the other end.

I don't know about you other jewellery making folks, but my fingers get hot when polishing! Sometimes I use green tape, but actually, just dunking and drying it in my little quench pot is enough to cool it down, so I can then carry on polishing.

Unless you are doing a lot of them, change of use certificates can be expensive per item. I find it more cost effective to get pieces rehallmarked over the top of the original hallmarks. It does mean I have to wait until I have around 10 pieces to send together, then the price per piece is lower. (There is a minimum charge regardless of how many items you send - which is fair enough when you consider set up etc.) This way, I can get pieces with existing hallmarks and completely newly created silver pieces all hallmarked at the same time.😁

Things don't always go quite to plan here. I love the creative thinking though, when I need to adapt an idea. I think it will still be a band from one end, but that lovely, sweeping curve is just begging to be attached to a stone /stones.

Hmmm. 😆

It's funny looking back at photos of our younger selves. I've had long hair almost as long as I remember. It got cut short once because I wouldn't brush it properly. Apparently I bit the hairdresser.😔

Mum made my sister and I some fabulous clothes and the most amazing cakes (including a chocolate sponge treaure chest that opened to reveal gold chocolate coins). Dad build our wardrobes and their bed (At 87 he is still doing wood turning.). I definitely know where my creativity comes from. 🥰

I remember in high school our head of year saying she'd got me down to 1 ring, 1 necklace and a pair of earrings - she was going to call that a success!

I'm terrible at parting with things I love. There are clothes in the loft I'm really hoping to get back into one day. I stlill have the silver studs my 'Aunty' Jill bought me when I had my ears pierced at about 14 years old. I still have my childhood Teddy Bear and also Teeto the mouse - though he is missing a leg now. 😆

This is how I'm attaching the enamel disks to the ear wires 😁

That's the enameling on the earrings finished and one pair hanging from sterling silver wire and hooks.

I can't decide if I'm going to set them all the same way yet. I'm also tempted to make my own hooks - We'll see tomorrow.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
