Hand cut silver Hathersage contour map pendants, with 18ct yellow gold markers for the exact location of the village within the landscape 🗺

The River Derwent and Hood Brook are engraved in the valleys, and the highest point of the map is Stanage Edge to the north-east of the necklace. I currently have 2 small pendants available, and can rustle up a large version within a few weeks ✨️

I've shared C&W's story previously (scroll back to Karamea River Rings), I know it's going to be one of my favourites for years to come - so I was absolutely thrilled to have a few of their STUNNING wedding photos drop into my inbox the other day.

They had a whale of a time frolicking about in the snow with their nearest & dearest atop Fog Peak in Wānaka. Just look at those views...and that dress! 😍

Perched above the picturesque Peak District village of Hathersage is a little patch of land dedicated to the memory of a very special person to 'J'. Somewhere lovely to visit, sit & remember. Now memorialised & mapped in this 9ct gold ring, a deep pink hued ruby marking the exact location within the rolling landscape 🗺

📍 The Walker's Haute Route

~200km, 16,000m elevation, 7 days

What an adventure! After loving last year's trot around the GR54, we decided to arrange another epic trip, this time further north, tackling a higher, linear route with more elevation. Starting in Chamonix and crossing the border into the Swiss Alps, the trail winds over high cols and plummets into steep sided valleys, bringing us eye-to-eye with multiple glaciers, offering scrambles across/up boulder fields and traverses across lush alpine meadows filled with jingling cows & squawking marmots!

Alongside the views, the highlights has to include the mountain huts we stayed in. Cabane du Mont Fort (2457m, just above Verbier) was gorgeous, serving excellent traditional potato rostis & a chia coconut pudding of dreams. Cabane de Moiry (2837m) was like something from a bond film - the traditional stone hut having been extended recently with a swish glass sided restaurant offering the wildest views over the glacier you've ever seen whilst eating brekkie.

Home isn't always where you live 🗺

J was born in the Netherlands but moved to England when she was just four years old. Decades later, she still returns regularly, and the landscapes of her childhood remain deeply woven into her sense of identity. This bespoke contour map was commissioned as a lasting reminder of that connection - a piece that now hangs in her workroom, keeping a little piece of home close by.

One of my favourite parts of creating bespoke commissions is hearing the stories behind the places people choose. Every landscape means something different, and it's a privilege to translate those memories into metal.

Some snaps form an epic weekend in north Wales supporting the unstoppable Lisa Watson on her Paddy Buckley round. 47 summits, 102km, 8,500m ascent, all ticked off with no drama, lots of snacks (but not enough potatoes), buckets of sweat and killer dusk/dawn displays 😍

I was on the 'graveyard' shift, which ended up being 1:15am-5:45am ish from Llanberis over the Glyders to Llyn Ogwen. A super rocky run with a stunning little cloud inversion when the sun came up!

A Hathersage pendant, this time on a silver paperclip chain. A golden 18ct granule marks the exact spot of the centre of the village in the Peak District, Derbyshire.

This one sold at Goldsmiths North but I'm currently making one to commission, and a couple more smaller versions for stock (this one is 22mm diameter, the smaller are 19mm). They'll be listed on my website soon, or you can commission your own unique location 🗺
