I had a few hours to wander round Birmingham this week whilst Jamie did a site visit. The weather was miserable but it was so nice to be back & reminisce (I was here for uni 2002-2006) then came back again for work in 2017.

1. Checked the floozie in the whirlpool bath is still there
2. Checked COS is still there. It is!
3. Tried something on
4. The most boring of basics (but it’s a staple)
5. Realised I was head to toe pre-loved in M&S fitting rooms
6. Sephora. Had to be done.

When I’m not selling pre-loved here I’m selling it in the charity shop I manage. Creating outfits for our mannequin is by far my favourite part of the job!

This vintage Jacques Vert dress coat is the perfect ‘my coat is the outfit’ coat. In a teal brocade fabric, with concealed press-stud fastening and collarless it is super chic and understated. I would style it with a cream cashmere roll neck and navy satin trousers 💙

We’ve had a RE:brand!

Since moving out of Sheffield and out of our permanent market space I haven’t been as consistent with posting on socials. I felt a little bit lost in all honesty; trying to balance this business with running a charity shop full-time & settling into a new home has been harder than I anticipated. When I have been working on this business it felt disjointed and I didn’t have the same passion for it all that I did when we started.

So…I wrote down everything I feel encompasses my vision of this brand. And I soon realised all the words started with RE:

RE:purpose RE:cycle RE:wear RE:love RE:use RE:live

And with RE also being my initials (Rachel Elizabeth) this seemed like it fit me & the brand so much more.

I’ve also injected a bit more of my personality into the brand colours as well - a more true reflection of how I style my home and how I intended the decor pieces I source, up-cycle and design to add flair to yours.

So if living more sustainably through vintage fashion, up-cycled furniture and quirky home decor appeals to you then follow along…🌈

This top is proving tricky to research. The care label is entirely Chinese symbols - which makes me question how vintage it really is.

I can’t find any evidence of a clothing brand ‘Nuoen’ or ‘Nuoer’ (what do you think it says?!)

The style - nipped in waist, tie front, hook & eye fastenings suggests 50s or 60s fashion.

It’s a size 88A which is Chinese sizing & equivalent to a UK XS - which makes me think modern.

I’m confused!

Any ideas? 💡 💡💡
