I’m sorry I’ve neglected my account the last few days to focus on promoting this event, Clay-Southwest which is this coming Saturday at just off the A30 between Exeter and Honiton. Really easy to get to and well sign posted.
I’d really love it if you could come along and support the makers, all of whom create totally different things out of mud. If you can’t get there, please share the info to friends who might want to come along.
I don’t have a stall so I will be found watching the demos or eating cake 🍰 can’t think of a better way to spend the day.

Take a look at the account to get a taster of who will be there.

Thank you to everyone who braved the heat at the weekend to visit my stall either in the Exchange in Devizes or at the Sherborne Castle country fair, I appreciate every one of you.

My next outing with my jewellery at at Waterperry Gardens near Oxford isn’t for three weeks but the weekends in between will still be busy, firstly I’ll be working at the at Newton Abbot racecourse this weekend, a great place to find gorgeous beads and stones and a must visit if you’re a crystal collector.

The weekend after that is the first ‘Clay-Southwest’ ceramics fair which I am organising as part of . I won’t be having a stall there so I’ll be enjoying helping out the other stall holders, watching the demos and eating the amazing cake made in house by our hosts . Please come along if you can and tell all your friends about it, it will be so good if it’s a successful day.

I worked overtime this evening to get these finished. I’ve sold a few one of a kind pendants recently so needed these to top up my display ready for the makers exchange market this weekend.

I planned the weird opal one with two stones to have three stones but the solder gods had different ideas. I actually like this version better so for once I bow to the solder gods, they were right this time.

After my pottery class this morning I popped over to Wellington to to give my shelf in their beautiful cabinet a little makeover. I added in some of my ever popular Larimar pieces, these evoke thoughts of summer even if the actual weather isn’t playing ball 🙄. If you’re anywhere near, please do pop in and see this lovely gallery, it’s full of art and crafts by very talented West Country peeps.

I’ve always maintained that you don’t need to spend a fortune on tools to make jewellery with but during a visit to Hatton Garden last week I was seduced by a new hammer, one that cost more than all my other hammers put together.
It feels good in my hand and makes this incredible texture, I’m hoping it was worth the investment.

Do you like the texture?

I’ve got a busy few weeks coming up, taking part in some new (to me) craft fairs as well as some favourites that I’ve attended before. There’s a full list of summer events on my website but here are the posters for the next few weeks.

It’s always good to see a familiar face at my stall and even better to meet someone who has come along because they have seen me on here, so please do say hello if you see me.

A recent commission, a medium weight chain necklace with varied sizes of oval links, created to be worn with a previously purchased Tourmaline and chain necklace.

The whole reason I learned to make silver jewellery was because I wanted a bespoke chain necklace, one that could be worn with anything, simple but different from those available in the shops. From making that one necklace I became hooked on creating jewellery and making individual and unique chains is still something I love to do.

If you would like to chat about having a unique chain made for yourself please get in touch.
