Sometimes you have to patiently wait for the right moment to finish a piece of jewellery...

I made a bezel setting a couple of weeks ago for a Tigers Eye stone that I had, but once I’d finished it all off the stone wouldn’t fit. Argh! I’d even soldered it on to the only sparkly paperclip chain I had in stock!

These things happen though. I checked all my 18x13 stones (I only had 3!) but none quite fitted either. (All calibrated cabochons have a slight tolerance and may vary in length, width or height - and sometimes a fraction of a mm can be the difference between it fitting a bezel and not fitting it)

Then this weekend I ordered this beautiful Chrysocolla cabochon - not a stone I was overly familiar with, but I love greens and blues and knew I could make something with it if it didn’t fit my already-made necklace.

Long story short, it fitted perfectly and is now pride of place in my shop window 😃

I've spent so long on my laptop today that my eyes are going square! But I have just added FIFTEEN workshops to the website for November and December, with at least 10 more Festive themed ones still to come. But that will have to wait until tomorrow :)

Feel free to take a look now, but be aware there will be more to choose from!!
