1969 Rolex Submariner 5513 🌊
A beautiful early matte dial 5513 featuring the sought-after M First dial, one of the very first matte dial configurations fitted to the reference.
The condition is exactly what draws you in on this one. Clean dial, thick case, strong lugs and a watch that has clearly been cherished throughout its life.
Even better, it comes complete with its original coffin box and papers, dating the watch to July 1969 when it was sold by Casa Venegas in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Back then, St. Thomas was one of the world’s most famous duty-free destinations for luxury watches, and the original owner likely walked out of the store having paid little more than a couple of hundred dollars for what would become one of Rolex’s most iconic references.
There’s something special about finding a watch where the paperwork tells part of the story. You can almost picture someone on holiday in the Caribbean during the summer of 1969, leaving Casa Venegas with a brand new Submariner on their wrist.
Over 55 years later, it’s still exactly what a vintage Submariner should be.
