A lesson in perseverance...and the power of chips!!
Seapiglet and I arrived at THE STEPS (if you know, you know! 🀣) full of hope and excitement! But today the shingle gods were not particularly kind. Seaham really only has great seaglass searching opportunities if the shingle is there! Three hours after high tide after we had scrambled through what dry/old shingle there was at the top of the beach, we decided to switch tact and head to the harbour instead. We had a good look but there wasn't much there either.
Then....what to do? Head to our Easington house where we stay each time we are in this area? Or....get some chips, and head back to Seaham Hall beach and see if any shingle had been revealed by the last of the tide?
Obviously we went with chips and more searching! And BINGO!!! A decent patch of shingle had appeared, which Seapiglet and I pounced on and combed back and forth like lunatics!
We found blues, reds, some multis.....and then THIS....pink and purple mega piece πŸ©·πŸ’œ!!

We are now tucked up in our Easington home, using the mixing bowls completely inappropriately....and planning our searching day for tomorrow πŸ˜€πŸ€ͺ

Happy BH weekend everyone! We are taking the day off tomorrow (Mon 31st) to have a family day. It has been such a busy month and we need a mini recharge of the batteries πŸ€ͺ
But today we couldn't help finishing and photographing this amazing piece of cobalt blue that has been set in a bespoke pendant bezel. Not many pieces of vivid cobalt blue this size in our collection....so a particularly unusual piece.
So, we may not be open in the shop tomorrow but please do have a mooch on our webshop πŸ˜€

ORANGE!!!! 😳🧑😍
Such a rare colour! We have found about 15-20 pieces of true orange in the 10 years we have been collecting! It is that rare!
Two bangles made this week: the longer, darker piece has sold, but the bright, smaller piece on a small 2mm bangle is available.....enjoy having a browse on the website. πŸ™
