POSTPONED!

We have made the decision to postpone this Saturday morning's community weeding and village tidy-up session due to the incoming storm weather.

The safety of our volunteers is our absolute priority, and with severe weather forecast, it is not safe or practical to carry out the work this weekend.

We will continue on Saturday 31st October, weather permitting.

In the meantime, please take care, secure any loose garden items, and stay safe during the storm.

Storm Austen is on the way, with an amber weather warning in place across Cornwall on Friday due to dangerous winds.

Significant disruption is likely. Debris could affect roads, and power cuts are possible. If you need to travel, take extra care and consider whether your journey is necessary.

It’s worth preparing now in case of power cuts. Make sure you have torches, spare batteries, a charged mobile phone power bank and other essentials to hand.

Stay away from exposed coastal areas overnight and on Friday. Strong winds and large waves could make conditions extremely dangerous. Do not take risks, but if you see someone in trouble along the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Thank you to all 10 volunteers who gave an hour of their time last Saturday to rid the kerbs along Trevince Parc of weeds and vegetation.

With so many helpers much was achieved.

Thank you also to Cornwall Council for collecting the stack of filled bags.

🚗 Carharrack Speedwatch is up and running!
Our team of 6 trained volunteers has completed its first official session.
Our aim is simple: make drivers aware of their speed and help slow traffic through the village.
We’re not here to catch anyone — just to make Carharrack safer for everyone.
Please slow down, stay safe, and treat our volunteers with respect. 🙏
Together, we can make a difference. 🚗💨

🚲🌿 CHILDREN ON WHEELS! 🌿🚲

Get ready for an afternoon of FREE pedal-powered fun at the racetrack! 🥳

📅 Sunday 4th October 2026
⏰ 1:30pm–3:00pm
📍 United Downs Raceway, TR15 5HU

Bring your bike, scooter or go-kart and enjoy the freedom of the racetrack! 🏁
🪖 Please bring your own helmet.
🚫 No electric or battery-powered vehicles.

🌱 Want to help nature too?
Join the Making Space for Nature conservation session from 10:30am–1:30pm with the United Downs Environment Group and Cornwall Butterfly Conservation. Help remove invasive vegetation and improve habitats for butterflies and other wildlife. 🦋

👢 Conservation volunteers should bring sturdy boots, warm clothing, gloves, water and lunch. Homemade cakes will be provided! 🍰

🍦 Sophie’s Pink Ice-Cream Van will be there, with cakes and hot drinks also available.

Everyone welcome — come along, get active and help make space for nature! 💚
