Waterloo & Crimean Medal Group with Whistle. This unusual medal group is unresearched as to why they are presented together is a genuine bespoke box made by Spinks. The Waterloo Medal is named to Sergeant James Haswell of the 4th of Foot. He did not appear on the original Waterloo Medal Roll but is recorded on the Nominal Roll of the Officers and men of the 4th (Kings Own) Regiment. It states that he was taken ill on the 17th of June and could not keep up with the Regiment. So maybe given after. The Crimean group were given to Sergeant Hedley of the Royal Artillery but is unclear as to why they are displayed with the Waterloo Medal. A good project for those who love and have the time for research.
