A huge congratulations to the students at The Harbour School who have completed our 6-week VOYCE programme! 🎉

Next Gen’s VOYCE is all about helping young people recognise their potential, build confidence and explore what their future could look like.

Over the six weeks, the students have heard from inspiring role models, explored personal and professional journeys, set goals, created vision boards and visited Mountjoy’s & PRNG’s head offices to gain an insight into the world of work.

They’ve also worked together on ideas, explored real-world projects and had the opportunity to learn from people with lived experience who are passionate about helping young people succeed.

It’s been brilliant to see them get involved and feel confident enough to share their ideas! We hope they’ve come away with fresh perspectives and a little more confidence in what they can achieve.

On Monday, Kosh delivered three anti-racism workshops at Portsmouth College’s Highbury Campus as part of the college’s Personal Development Week 🤝

Drawing on his personal journey, Kosh shares the challenges he faced growing up, the experiences that shaped him and how he has built his career to where he is today.

The workshops explored microaggressions and the challenges people can face as a result of their background, alongside key terms such as asylum seekers, refugees, immigration and anti-racism, helping students understand what these words mean and why they matter.

Throughout the sessions, Kosh encouraged students to reflect on their own perspectives and recognise that everyone has different experiences that shape how they see the world. Understanding these differences, listening to others and being open to different points of view are all important steps towards building more inclusive communities.

A huge thank you to Portsmouth College for inviting us to deliver these sessions and for creating space for such important conversations!

We believe that sharing lived experiences, challenging perceptions and creating opportunities for young people to learn are all part of building a more inclusive future🖤

There’s nothing quite like women supporting women, celebrating each other’s strengths and using our knowledge and experiences to help one another grow🖤

Young Person Spotlight | MATILDA🧡
Matilda joined us over the summer for work experience and we’ve absolutely loved having her as part of the Next Gen team.

From the beginning, she showed real work ethic, enthusiasm and dedication, getting stuck into a huge variety of projects across the organisation.

During her time with us, Matilda has supported the planning of Next Gen Live at Portsmouth Guildhall, explored our TikTok and video content, reviewed delivery materials and helped us plan future blog content.

She’s taken on new challenges, brought her own ideas to the table and gained an insight into the different areas that go into running a youth-focused organisation.

We’re incredibly proud of the way she has approached her work experience and the contribution she’s already made to the team.

As she heads into her next chapter studying Politics, English Language and PE, we’re excited to continue supporting Matilda alongside her studies and see where her journey takes her🤩

One of our favourite sayings at Politely Rebellious Next Gen CIC, and one that sits at the heart of what we do.

Change starts when we’re willing to do things differently and take those first steps towards something better. Whether that’s creating new opportunities for young people, stepping outside of our comfort zones or choosing to believe that things can be different, progress starts with action.

We can’t expect different outcomes if we keep doing the same things, and sometimes the smallest steps can make the biggest difference.

Keshia had the honour of speaking at this year’s Hampshire Constabulary Black History Month BEAM event, alongside an inspiring group of people committed to making a difference 🤝

It was a privilege to be in a room with individuals who are using their experience and leadership to help create safer, more inclusive and diverse communities. From important conversations around representation and equality to the work being done to drive positive change, events like this are a reminder of how much can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose.

A pleasure to share the space with Chief Constable Alexis Boon, former Metropolitan Police DCI Clive Driscoll, Sarb Athwal Founder of True Honour, and Thomas Doughty Head of Leadership & Talent Development, alongside so many other inspiring individuals.

At Politely Rebellious Next Gen CIC, we believe that creating positive change starts with people being willing to have conversations & take action. That includes building communities where every young person feels safe, represented and able to access opportunities, regardless of their background or circumstances.
