My fabulous friend is running the cafe tomorrow at the Poolewe Tuesday Market to raise funds for Mikeysline please come along and support her. I will be doing my best by having a bacon roll, soup and no doubt a bit of cake, but I can only eat so much so you better come along too! 🤣

The Button Bothy and Ron's Book Bothy will be closed on Monday as I'm off to Dublin for the weekend with the hubby to see the amazing C.W. Stoneking 🤩 very excited! All orders recieved after Thursday afternoon will be posted Tuesday/Wednesday. ❤️

Here's a quick whizz round the Button Bothy and Ron's Book Bothy for you to see what we have on offer.
I didn't intend for this to be one of those posts but it has been such a quiet start to the year the concerns of keeping a bricks and mortar shop going are hard to avoid and it's hard not to loose a little faith when customer numbers stepping over the threshold are so low and so many of the ones who do don't spend a thing. We all know times are tough and everyone's expenses are high so the frivolous expenditure on unnecessary items will take a hit, but if everyone who came in and told me what wonderful things I made, how great a selection of buttons I stocked, how lovely the range of cards I have, or how fabulous the bookshop was just spent a couple of pounds it might make the reality of keep the bothies going a little easier. There's a fabulous organisation called Just A Card who champion just this, do pop over and read their story.
Anyway, it's market day today here in Poolewe and I'm surrounded by loads of fabulous and supportive creatives who are all going through the same thing and we're like a little family keeping each other going and if you've managed to read all the way to here next time you're in a wee independent shop or at a market don't underestimate how spending as little as £2/3 could make the difference between that small bussiness still being there next time you visit. My friend Jade is taking on an amazing Icelandic trek in aid of I've made up these bee earrings and clip charms to help support her fundraising. The earrings are £9 and the clips £5 with all proceeds going to jade's fundraising. They'll be available in the Button Bothy Studio or if you'd like to buy online I can post for £2 per order (no matter how many you order) which will cover postage and payment fees. I've got new neighbours at the Button Bothy studio at the Poolewe Village Hall. Open at 4pm and that's when I close, this could be a bit tempting!
