Ever wondered what it might feel like to make your own wedding rings?

Not just choosing them but shaping and finishing them with your own hands, side by side.

In my studio in Plymouth, I guide couples through the very exciting process of making their own rings. You don’t need experience, just the wish to create something that already holds a story.

If you're planning a wedding or engagement in 2026, this might be the beginning of something beautiful.

Bookings now open for 2026

GETTING MARRIED OR ENGAGED SOON?
Why not make your rings yourselves?

In my workshops, couples create their own wedding or engagement rings by hand, at your own pace, with guidance (and tea/coffee and biscuits) always nearby.
It’s not just about the rings.
It’s the memory of making them together.

Bookings for 2026 are now open, and if you book before 20th December, you’ll still secure the current 2025 price.

And if you're not the one getting married but you know someone who is…
Gift cards are also available, printed and ready to wrap for Christmas.
A beautiful way to give an experience they’ll remember forever.

George came to the studio wanting to do something brave, something deeply personal. He wanted to propose, but not with a ring bought from a shelf or designed by someone he’d never met. He wanted to make it himself, by hand, from start to finish. And not only that, he wanted to use diamonds from his grandmother’s engagement ring.

The workshop lasted five hours and we worked together through each step, the carving, the refining, the decision-making, but it was his hands that gave the ring its shape.

The reel captures just a few seconds of that day, but the memory is much bigger than that. This ring carries history. It carries love. And it now carries the moment where one story ended and a new one began.

I feel very lucky to have been part of it.

Congratulations George and Jo!

These are some of the pieces that have left the studio over recently, all completely different, and each one carrying its own story.

A few began with old jewellery tucked away in a box, brought in with the hope that it could become something new. Others were made for proposals, anniversaries, or the kind of milestones that don’t need explaining. Some were shaped at the bench by the people who now wear them, during one of those rare days that you remember forever, even without a photograph.

The cut-off for Christmas commissions and workshops is now only a week away - 17th October!

If you’ve been meaning to reach out, or thinking about a piece that’s been sitting in your mind (or in your drawer), now’s a good time.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means for couples to make their own wedding rings.

It’s never just about the rings. It’s the quietness of the studio, the way your hands shake a little when you first pick up the file, the conversation that slows down while you’re shaping the metal. It’s the moment you both realise you’re making something real, and not just something to wear, but something to remember.

I’ve watched people laugh their way through it, and I’ve seen them go completely silent with concentration. I’ve seen nervousness, pride, and the kind of stillness that only happens when something matters.

That’s what you take away with you, along with the rings, of course! A memory of how they came to be, and the story of the day you made them together.

I’ll be closing bookings for 2025 workshops on 17th October. There are still a few dates left, and I won’t be opening my calendar again until the new year.
And if you’re thinking about booking for 2026, you can still do that at the current rate until the 20th of December but prices will be going slightly up in the new year.

If this is something you’ve been thinking about, now’s a good time to get in touch.

Mim brought me a gold bracelet she’d had for years. She didn’t wear it anymore, so instead of letting it sit in a drawer, she asked me to turn it into something new.

We designed two rings for her daughters, Rosie and Anna, and a pair of starfish studs for herself.
Each piece was carved by hand in wax, and the sand cast. The rings were cast using sand from Whitsand Bay in Cornwall as Rosie and Anna wanted that beautiful sandy texture.

The rings are set with three aquamarines each, a quiet symbol of mother and daughters, always linked.
The studs hold one aquamarine each, small, personal anchors for Mim.

All made from the same piece of gold.
Transformed, but still carrying the story it began with.

Thank you Mim Brigham for trusting me with such a beautiful and meaningful commission and giving me such creative freedom!
