A customer asked me to supply a bare plinth, he had previously bought a few components from me so I offered to fit them to his new plinth. Revilo plinth finished in Indian Rosewood veneer and a flush fitting brace.

I got to deliver a Revilo MK2 to an old friend today. It’s a real pleasure to build a turntable for someone whom coached my son for 11 years. There’s still a void without Sunday morning rugby!

Here for sale is an Iceni Audio Revilo MK2 turntable. The tonearm is a used Roksan Tabriz. It is in fabulous condition, the bearings are like new. The external wire uses a mini din connector and Rean RCA connectors and separate earth lead complete with gold plated spade connector.

Ok. Another gentle day back in the workshop, so what better way to spend a few hours than to rewire a classic Rega RB250?

This one is a rare beast, it’s badged ‘Acoustic Signature’ (A German manufacturer of high quality arms). I’ve rewired hundreds of Rega arms and never have I come across one of these. It’s finished in a matt silver paint and the arm appears to have been shot blast prior to painting. I’ve left it as is because it’s in exceptionally good condition.

I did however treat it to a thorough inspection, dismantled it so I could check and clean the bearings (all good with what appears to be high tolerance bearings), it then got a full rewire (Cardas 33awg internal and professional quality external), new Iceni Audio underslung counterweight and a thorough clean. It’s all ready to go but again, I think I’ll fit it onto one of the skeletal turntables that I’ve just started building.

As a lot of you may know, I’ve been very ill recently. I apologise for not being in a position to post anything of any interest. Today was the first day back at the workshop, light duties only! So, I decided to upgrade and rewire a Rega RB300 tonearm. It came to me in a bit of a state; it had a faulty Isokinetik rewire, missing counterweight, missing RCA’s. The arm wand was stripped and polished (leaving the paint at the arm clip for a nice, tight fit), full internal and external rewire, finger lift replacement with carbon fibre, Iceni Audio underslung counterweight, solid brass arm pillar adaptor and a thorough clean. I’m planning on fitting it to one of the new turntables that will be available shortly. Unless anyone is interested in it as it is!

The first of the new Mk2 Revilo turntables hand finished in walnut veneer and fitted with a structural brace. It comes with a rewired Roksan Tabriz tonearm and Audio Technica VM95ML cartridge. It has a precision matched Iceni audio Orbit sub platter and main bearing, a solid aluminium platter with 21 underslung weights and two part felt/nitrile/cork Iceni mat and the new lightened record weight. The motor is a brand new Allied Motion synchronous motor suited to 240v input, power board is made by Vinyl Source. It will come complete with a two part acrylic dust cover. If anyone is interested in a complete bargain, take a look at this. It’s for sale fairly locally. The Rega RB300 and the other parts would come to far more than he’s asking.

Progress continues on the acrylic Venta turntable. All the aluminium parts have been polished. The sub platter has been precisely matched with the main bearing and the aluminium platter has been precisely matched to the sub platter.

Work has started on another Venta turntable. This one has a crucifix style plinth made from acrylic tube and CNC machined aluminium. Most of them are made from carbon fibre but I’ve also made one from English oak.
