Why does this permanent bracelet mean so much?

After nearly 40 years working for the
NHS, wearing jewellery at work simply wasn’t an option for this lovely lady.

But now she’s retired, that’s all changed!
And with her birthday to celebrate too, her daughter treated her to her very first permanent bracelet 🤍

No more taking it off for work. Just a beautiful bracelet she can enjoy every single day ✨

Apparently my last packing method wasn’t questionable enough 😆

After 12 hours at an event, I’m still absolutely not taking every single chain off the stands one by one.

Last time it was a hair tie. This time I’ve found an even better solution.

A sock. An actual sock.

Does it look professional?
Absolutely not.
Does it work? Surprisingly well.

hate permanent jewellery. Yep, l said it. 👀

Not the jewellery itself. I absolutely love that.
It’s the word permanent that causes all the confusion.

People hear it and think it can never come off, that it should last forever without breaking, or that they’re somehow stuck with it.

But permanent jewellery simply means your chain is welded together instead of fastened with a traditional clasp.

You can remove it whenever you need to, and just like any other jewellery, it needs a little care.

And if it does break? Don’t panic. In most cases, we can weld it back on.

So no, I don’t hate permanent jewellery. I just wish we’d given it a better name!
