The fiddly part you don’t normally see 👀

These tiny London blue topaz beads are threaded individually onto a wire running through the HALO, so they can move and spin.

They’re only around 4mm, and getting that tiny hole onto an even tinier wire takes more patience than you might think 😅 Especially when they keep escaping across my bench.

This is the smaller version of my HALO pendant, handmade in 9ct gold with four London blue topaz beads.

I I think it's finally time I explained the name Booblinka 😂🫧

It actually started many years ago in Prague, when making jewellery was still only a hobby.

My husband asked me what I liked. I said bubbles. He asked me what the word was in Czech, so I told him — bublinka, which means a little bubble.

He tried to pronounce it and said something more like “bablinka”. I didn't like the sound of that at all 🙈

So we played around with the spelling and ended up with Booblinka — which sounded much closer to bublinka when he said it.
And yes… my husband was also the first one to point out what Booblinka looks like in English 😂

At the time, we even found a font that looked like little bubbles. I had no idea that all these years later, bubbles would have found their way into so much of my jewellery.

The little gold granules I add to my pieces. The round shapes. My Drop of the Ocean gemstone spheres. Even some of the gemstones themselves have tiny bubbles trapped inside.

And then there is the ocean. When you're underwater and breathe out or move through the water, suddenly there are bubbles everywhere. We create them without even thinking about it. I still find that a little bit miraculous and fascinating ❤️☺️

I don't think I consciously planned for bubbles to become such a big part of my jewellery.
They simply have.
So now you know what Booblinka really means. 🫧
