Lots of new amazonite pieces made and ready for Hay-on-Wye Hay Markets Ltd this Thursday (27/7/26) and The Faddle Fair, Coleford on Sunday (30/8/26) The Faddle Fair but I’m still working on some new pearl designs too in between painting the old shop windows and harvesting some of the fruit and veg that have survived our Mediterranean summer 😂

Feeling bad because I’m not posting on here so I thought I’d share a photo of some of the gems, pearls and shell I’m working with for upcoming markets including Hay Markets Ltd and faddle_fair_coleford at the end of the month where these beauties will have become bracelets, necklaces, pendants and earrings! Maybe I’ll have some anklets too as I’ve made three to order over the last few weeks - a summer thing??!!

My first lovely customer of the day at Hay wearing a freshwater pearl necklace I made on Thursday and she set me off on a really good one - pearl necklaces, coin jewellery and bracelets all starred but best of all was the lovely atmosphere of a busy happy market with lots of people both sellers and visitors making it a great place to be 😊 Hay Markets Ltd

Don’t know if it was the different set up with my new display box from Wye Valley Vintage but I had such an excellent day at Hay-on-Wye market this week Hay Markets Ltd It was definitely a pearl day and lovely customers re-homing necklaces, bracelets and earrings - I’ve just about enough time to finish off commissions gained during the recent farOpen Art Trail & Artists open studios event and make some new stock ready for next Saturday’s market😊 but that’s a good thing and I was in two minds to share where I got the box - bought earlier this week with my sister when we met up for a coffee - I want to keep this wonderful shop to myself but they and their stock are too lovely not to share with others (I can’t buy it all 😂)

Last two days of farOpen Art Trail & Artists this weekend and it’s been such a lovely experience - in between greeting and talking to visitors I’ve managed to make a few new items going into stock - paua shell and turquoise bracelet, pearl bracelets and vintage coin earrings - particularly loved the couple today who bought a wren farthing and amber pair of earrings to celebrate their 7th wedding anniversary (copper and after some quick research discovered farthings have a high percentage of copper 😉) working alongside lovely fellow makers who are such a boost Johanna Sterrick Julie Puddles FusedintheForest Derek Lamb

Hay market was brilliant yesterday with a record sale of pearl jewellery - sold out of white pearl earrings and almost the same with the bracelets (know what I’m making this coming week 😉) then today I’ve been at day 2 of FarOpen open studios art trail - I’m at Studio 28 and we’ve had a fantastic day with lots of lovely visitors and lots of lovely sales!! One of my favourites was the lady who bought the paua shell bracelet for herself and then returned to buy a labradorite bracelet as a present. Home now and sitting in dappled sunshine with my book and maybe a little drink of something fizzy and refreshing 😘 Hay Markets Watercolour Puddles Fused in the Forest farOpen Art Trail and Events

Getting ready for this years Open Studios .artists … starts this Saturday and I’m very lucky to be sharing space with some amazing creators and makers at Watercolourpuddles studio (28) I’ll be at Hay-on-Wye for the monthly Saturday market on the first day but you can be assured of a warm welcome from Julie and the gang … original artwork, fused glass, ceramics and my jewellery .lamb .sterrick
