Oberon Jewellery

Oberon Jewellery Newbury based self taught jewellery designer that specialises in unique pieces of jewellery made from fine & sterling silver. I learn something new every day.

unique pieces for the individual in you....

Dream a little dream...

I have always been a total magpie who loves jewellery, in particular silver. I was very lucky to have a good friend take the risk on me making her a piece in a medium I have never used before. She helped finance my first little bit of kitand it has grown from there. I have never done any courses or had formal training, everythin

g I know is self taught... I am lucky enough to now work doing something I love! As they say life really does begin at 40...

Starting on a kiddies play table to now having a full jewellers work bench in my bay window...

My price range is very wide, from under £10 to my most expensive piece of £700. For commissions I tend to let the customer set a maximum budget and make the piece to fit that. Terms:

The audacity needed its moment in the grid… we had it close the lid or he would have been in the grill taking the burgers! (And before anyone cones for me it was not hot at this point!) you may not be able to tell by his belly but Woo lives for food! Any food he can his dainty little paws on… nothing distracts him… loud music, tv, Alfie yelling, even us yelling at him and no he is in there… he will have those burgers no matter what 😂.

They know… this not so little monster has been at my side all day. Not his normal modus operandi… from playing ‘hunting’ for so long this morning to hit and run cuddles all day, trashing my bench and declaring war on two safety pins. He has kept me out of a massive funk. Endo pain yet again kicking my backside. Add in other randomness, including a dead fish in one of my tanks (half eaten by his tank mates’) and sitting in my own much loved garden feeling impossible when I feel so meh this little nutter has been there, not even getting cross with F visiting outside and forgiving me when my lovely neighbour asked me round for rose ❤️ and me abandoning him 😂.

Beads… to replace lost beads. The originals first made nearly 10 years ago! In art clay… and a few more made over the year… but more mislaid. So ahead of a birthday new ones commissioned . These are made out of my own sheet sterling silver. The recycled stuff… all the bits and pieces, melted and poured and rolled. And hey presto you get beautiful sheet to hand cut into pieces that become hand stamped sterling silver beads.

This exemplifies why I love doing what I do. A charm bracelet that I have made all bar one of the charms for over the years. It celebrates S life, each one meaning something special to her but also celebrates my style and skills development. It makes me so happy to revisit it and to add a new charm to it. Two little cats, one a little rounder than the other as in life ❤️

I feel very lucky that when birthdays come round I am able to make special treats for my friends and family. Something super simple for my lovely leopard print loving friend. Stamped with the family initials and the birthday number. Made with eco silver on a sterling silver chain with a little emerald in the clasp for a May birthday ❤️.

May is definitely birthday month here! This little piece was for my mum… 9ct gold bracelet with emeralds, rubies and sapphires both yellow and blue. On a sliding clasp bracelet component from . A little extra for her birthday as she ‘mislaid’ the previous incarnation!
Happy to make more as I have the stones I had to order specially to make it for her after the oh so subtle hints that were dropped 😂.

In tricky times and silver prices as they are is one of those times any tiny bit of help is massive. Not buying from me (although that is fabulous of course!)
but in terms of reach and engagement just liking my posts, sharing my post, interacting with stories, labouring through the carousels… that gets other people to see me and see my work and maybe then buy which is marvellous.
I do it, I see a business I know, a person I know, a business I like, a business started by a friend and I take a tiny bit of time to like it and share it.
Perhaps return the favour? Costs nothing except a few moments.
It is a business, my business and a business page, not a hobby. I need it and the potential income. The cats you see need it! They have expensive tastes…
please, friends, strangers and friends to be (even my mum and husband!) scroll those carousels, like those pictures, the silver jewellery, the cats, Cornwall and even me and go mad share the odd one.
Instagram may reward me with a few new people seeing what I do.
Seek me out in the search box if insta is hiding me behind cat videos and supplements for menopause… I do my best to do it for you, honest!
(And sorry algorithm, I won’t be posting reels of me… I still dislike making them, appearing in them and to be honest seeing a lot of them, give me a good old set of pretty stills to scroll through…)
this may boomerang back at me in the worst way and get me hidden even more but worth a try isn’t it? As it is some grotty AI bot has already removed a shed load of followers that I worked hard to gain.

Go on friends, family and potential friends to be tap that ❤️

My boy is 19! How? How have we all got here? As an SEN parent birthdays hit differently. Having a 6’ teen who is so very very young is such a juggle and birthdays are the height of the juggle. But today we made it… and we had a good day! A really good day… and a roast was cooked and cakes were baked (and naps were had post 4Oth birthday do last night that tested my mental resolve to the limits but such a glorious day in the run up). But gosh I am tired now 😂. Just twenty three minutes from his arrival time (and getting his very own birthday and not sharing with mum).
