Ephemera featuring handwriting is the inspiration and starting point for my work; old postcards as well as stamps, maps and photographs are collected; interesting areas are extracted and combined with metalwork, to create new contemporary stories. Contrasting styles of writing are an important aspect, combined to create new conversations. The metalwork is inspired by textures found in our urban en

vironment and is oxidised to highlight the papers used with gold tube rivets to refer to our industrial heritage.

So I’m still in Yarm looking after mum. She is hopefully coming home from hospital tomorrow. Please can everyone cross their fingers! And I’ve been training to tube feed her so she can come home, just keep those fingers crossed please!
_
Obviously mum takes priority but I do miss my studio and maker besties. And my tools! I’ve not had the head space to share current jewellery but I’ll try and include it when we have a new daily routine sorted. Between tube feeding and walking around the garden!
