New design using diamonds and an emerald from existing jewellery to make a bubble ring … was quite a tough one to do as the diamonds were very similar in size and we had only one coloured stone to accent the ring …. Started here on a yellow gold …

Diamond Facts That Might Surprise You 💎

✨ Diamonds are the hardest natural substance on Earth — scoring a perfect 10 on the Mohs scale. It is highly resistant to scratching due to its rigid carbon atom structure. However, diamond is not the strongest material overall, as it can be broken, and it is less hard than some synthetic materials

✨ Its hardness comes from a 3D tetrahedral structure where each carbon atom is bonded strongly to four others. However a Diamond is brittle and can shatter if hit with a hammer. It is also unstable above 800degrees C in air

✨ They formed over 1–3 billion years ago, deep beneath the Earth’s surface under extreme heat and pressure.

✨ Not all diamonds are colourless — they can naturally occur in pink, blue, yellow, and even green.

✨ The name “diamond” comes from the Greek word adamas, meaning unbreakable.

✨ Diamonds aren’t just for jewellery — they’re used in cutting tools, medical equipment, and even space technology.

✨ Each diamond is unique, like a fingerprint — no two are exactly the same.

✨ The sparkle? It’s all about how the diamond is cut, not just its size clarity and colour play a big part too💫

Super sentimental job from our workshop, my husband and I made last week… Wonderful to make such important sentimental pieces for really lovely people …we amalgamated Mum‘s wedding ring and a Signet ring that Mum gifted him when he was 18… concluded that we’d would make an ingot but also specific hallmarking and reset the Diamond from the Signet Ring, engrave the reverse with Mum and accent the catches with goldplating for a masculine leather chain… excuse my text message notification sounds in the background of the vid 🙈🤦‍♀️
