After a very busy summer its nearly time for Bearsted Market on the Green this Sunday. I'm looking forward to catching up with lots of familiar faces and have a few people coming down to look at my samples.

If you're considering Ashes Jewellery or would like to look at options for capturing hand, foot, finger or paw print jewellery in silver then please do come down and have a chat. If you're ready you can order on the day, and if you're not quite ready then that isn't a problem at all.

Now August is over and the 10 year Two Green Lane celebrations have concluded, I'm going to go back to posting more about my products. First off, this beautiful Martini glass CZ stone pendant is now available on my website. I launched it at Bearsted Market last month and it and sold my first one straight away so I've created another one. It's sitting in my Little Green Lane collection as I have put it on a slightly shorter chain- 16 inches as I think it works really well and is a perfect gift for your bestie 💚. 💚 Happy birthday Two Green Lane 💚

So today marks ten years since I launched my business. So much has changed in that time and I have learnt so much. I hope you have enjoyed the different social media posts this month, learning a little more about my business.

I am honestly so grateful to each and every one of you for all your support. It wouldn’t have been possible without you. I am so thankful to be able to do something that I love so much and here’s to the next ten years! 🥂

If after learning more about my business over the past month you think you might be interested in ordering some Ashes Jewellery, here is a very basic step by step process to help guide you….

1. Visit www.twogreenlane.com and click on my Ashes Jewellery
2. Choose your piece of jewellery- a necklace, a bracelet, a ring, earrings or more
3. Choose your colour
4. Decide if you want hidden or visible ashes (it’s about 50/50 what people go for, so choose what feels right for you)
5. Decide whether you want a finishing touch such as glitter
6. Once your order is placed look out for an email from me giving you details on how to send me your ashes
7. Once I receive your ashes I make your jewellery in approximately 1 week
8. I will post your jewellery and remaining ashes to you Royal Mail Tracked 48 (unless requested otherwise) and will notify you when your package is on it’s way

1. Visit www.twogreenlane.com and click on my Personalised Silver Jewellery
2. Choose your print (hand, foot, finger or paw)
3. Choose a necklace, bracelet, earrings, cufflinks, keyring, golf ball marker
4. Multiple pieces can be made with the same print
5. I give you a print kit to take the print. If it is a hand, foot or paw print you email the print to me, if it is a fingerprint then I provide you with an envelope to post it back to me
6. Once I receive the print I make the jewellery in approximately 2 weeks
7. I will post your jewellery to you Royal Mail Tracked 48 (unless requested otherwise) and will notify you when your package is on it’s way

As a business I support two very special charities 💚

The first of these is the London Retired Police Dogs Trust (LRPD) which supports the retired police dogs of London with their welfare needs. Once retired it is incredibly difficult to insure these dogs due to the courageous and challenging work they have performed so vets bills are inevitable and expensive. The LRPD help with these costs so the dogs can have comfortable and happy retirements after many years helping keep us all safe. Supporters of the LRPD can order my jewellery via their website and I make a donation to this incredible charity for each order placed.

The second of these charities is Pilgrims Hospices who are a group of 3 very special hospices in East Kent where people with a life limiting illness and their family and friends are supported and empowered to live well in mind and body until the very last moment of their life. Families who are supported by Pilgrims Hospices can order my jewellery via my website and I make a donation to this wonderful charity for each order placed.

I am very proud to be able to support both of these incredible charities and make a small contribution to the wonderful work they do 💚

Giving back to the local community 💚

My daughter’s school have a great event put on for their Year 6’s where they invite parents and the local community to come in and talk to the children about their job. It’s a great idea as it starts to seed thoughts in their head about the type of path they may wish to take. As one of my daughters was in Year 6 this year, I decide to volunteer. It was a very different audience for me. I have been used to doing big presentations internal and external to very senior people in my previous job, but talking to groups of 11 year olds was a completely new challenge.

I spoke about running a small business and all the different elements involved. For some groups I used jewellery making as the example, but for others, if jewellery wasn’t something they were interested in I asked them to think about their hobbies and their passions and how they could convert that in to running a business so that they could see the skills were transferable whether you were wanting to start up a football training academy or a guinea pig boarding house.

It was a really busy morning and I think I must have done the same presentation around 20 times but I really loved it. The kids were all impeccably behaved and showed genuine interest and it was lovely for me to be doing something completely different and out of my comfort zone. Another example of why running your own business has it’s advantages, as you can take opportunities like this to give something back 💚 x
