Recently serviced this funky full-time watch for . No need for a confusing GMT hand, this watch holds two microscopic mechanical movements in tandem to show two separate (or identical) time zones on the double dials. Bonkers strap model's own.

Some of the steps involved in replacing a damaged pivot on the intermediate wheels of a Buren Cal 12. These rare modular chronograph watches with a microrotor automatic mechanism are complicated things and are one of three movements that claim ownership in some way or another of being the first automatic chronograph movement in some way or another. The other two which also claim this are by Zenith and Seiko.

An early oyster cased Rolex which came in for some visual tlc as well as the usual internal repair and restoration. Underneath a very yellowed crystal was a lovely dial, but horrible green lume. We mixed up a batch to closely match the numerals in colour, and I think it looks a lot better and much more authentic.

A set of hands made for a bracket clock to replace some non-original which really didn't look great. Designed in CAD to the client's spec, these were laser cut then carefully hand fettled, hardened and tempered to ensure a good stylistic fit for the clock. Meanwhile took great care to carefully and subtly improve many parts of the case to get everything fitting together in tone and colour.
Projects like this are a great example of complex modern techniques meeting hard-earned practical hand skills 🤝

It's an unusual design decision that IWC opted not to make their rotor axles replaceable, instead requiring a whole new bridge which of course is no longer available. Fortunately we can make replacements here in the studio - the tolerances on these parts are nearly as fine as a balance staff, requiring minimum friction for efficient winding and an absolute perfect fit inside the bearings for a snug fit with no wobble as the motor moves.
