SOLD — Rolex Day-Date Ref. 18038 with a brown ombré vignette dial.

One of those watches that photographs well, but looks even better in person. The way the dial fades from a warm brown centre into a darker edge gives it a depth that few Day-Dates can match.

Already sold, but too good not to share. Congratulations to its new owner — a special Rolex and a dial that never stays around for long.

Cartier by Audemars Piguet, 1970s.

An ultra-thin manual wind Cartier, crafted by Audemars Piguet and retailed through Cartier — a partnership that produced some of the most desirable dress watches of the era. During this period, Cartier often turned to the finest Swiss manufacturers, including AP, to produce watches sold under its name.

Finished in 18k gold with its original deployant buckle, this is the kind of watch that reminds you why collectors love vintage Cartier. Elegant, discreet, and increasingly difficult to find today.

Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse Automatic ref. 3734, 1980s.

The Golden Ellipse at its purest — slim case, clean dial, and the kind of shape Patek Philippe got so right during this period. Quietly elegant on the wrist, with all the charm that makes vintage Ellipses so easy to appreciate.

Cartier Gondole — Ref. 78085.

One of Cartier’s most recognisable shaped watches from the period, defined by its long curved case and simple dial layout. The Gondole line captured Cartier at a time when design came first.

Simplicity at its classiest.

Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet, 1990s.

24mm in white gold, with black diamonds framing the rectangular case. Named after one of Audemars Piguet’s founders, the Edward Piguet line became known for its elongated Art Deco-inspired shape and elegant profile on the wrist.

Finished with a silvered dial, applied Arabic numerals, and a rectangular small seconds sub dial. A very different side of Audemars Piguet — distinctive, and full of character.

VZASC Audemars Piguet Calatrava, 1950s.

36mm with sharp and well-defined lugs. The VZASC marking refers to the Swiss case maker (V. Z. & A. Spillmann Co.), known for producing high-quality cases for some of the top maisons of the time. Their work is recognised for its precision and finishing, and examples like this — still retaining strong lines — are becoming increasingly hard to find.

A clean, balanced AP from the period, with all the right details.

Rolex Day-Date Burlwood — Ref. 18038.

36mm with one of Rolex’s most distinctive dial finishes of the era. Each burl wood dial carries its own natural grain and pattern, meaning no two are ever quite the same. Paired with the warmth of the Day-Date case, it’s a configuration that feels rich, confident, and class.
