Belgian jewellery designer & maker Julie Nicaisse gives life to metals by translating the magic and mystery of unconventional beauty found in nature, and turning it into talismanic adornments amalgamating organic elements, dark elegance, a passion for history, and a love for the planet and admiration for its fauna and flora. Following enrolment onto her first jewellery course in 2006, Julie’s craftsmanship ability grew steadily from strength to strength. She acquired her high level of skill through 8 years’ experience working for a number of renowned jewellers before finally launching her own brand in 2017.

Last week I visited Antwerp.

My first stop was at Dav Tools a well stocked jewellery supply shop.

I then headed to the where I met my friend who gave me a private guided tour of the museum. He used to be a diamond dealer so you can imagine how interesting this was for me. It wouldn’t have been the same without him!

After lunch we pop by shop, which I highly recommend to any jewellery lover visiting Antwerp.

I also had a full guided tour of the city, learning about the history and legends of Antwerp.

It was a perfect day thanks to my friend Alain, who has been so generous with information about his home town.

This day will remain in my memory forever 🫶🏼

The new wedding rings are here ✨

This new range is inspired by nature, such as the movement formed at the surface of the water in the rivers and by our forests, with their multitude of trees stretching between earth and sky.

All wedding rings are handmade to order to your exact size in 100% recycled 14ct or 18ct gold.

Over the past year, precious metal prices have risen significantly. I’ve held off for as long as I could, but to reflect the cost of the materials I use, a price increase has now become necessary.

From the 1st of April, there will be a price update across all my collections.

Bespoke and made to order pieces are always priced in line with current metal prices.

If you have any sentimental gold that you don’t wear, I do offer a remodelling service. I can reuse your old, inherited sentimental pieces and give them a fresh new lease of life by turning them into a modern, unique and new design that can be treasured once again.

Congratulations to all the award winners this year. I hope you all had a fantastic evening at the ceremony on Monday 🥂

I remember winning a bronze award back in 2023, it was such an incredible experience.

I haven’t won anything this time. But I always enjoy taking part in the competition. This year I entered the 2D category sponsored by
This award invited entrants to push the boundaries of design by creating a concept that could be interpreted both as a jewellery item and as a small works.

So, I wanted to share my entry for this year with you. Here is my poison vessel and antidote necklace.

I love March!

First, because it’s the return of the spring and the awakening of Mother Nature. On a more personal note, it’s my birthday and endometriosis awareness month🎗️ (a condition I suffer from).
We will also celebrate International Women’s Day & Mother’s Day this month.

March is the perfect time to express your gratitude with a little thoughtful gift to the special woman in our life. Whether it’s your wife, your mum, your girlfriend, your stepmom, your host mom, your aunt, a friend who is struggling or a woman who has helped you along your life journey.

To celebrate womanhood and the return of the spring, I have decided to hold off until the end of March before increasing my prices across my collections.

Over the past year, precious metal prices have risen significantly, reaching record hights. As a result, I have to increase my prices to reflect the cost of the materials I source.

Today, I am celebrating a special anniversary! 🎗️

3 years ago, I was undergoing surgery. And since, I have had my health & life back🙏🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It has been an extremely long journey, it took 21 years for me to get diagnosed with adenomyosis and endometriosis. I had to travel abroad for my diagnosis and surgery as my first surgery here in the U.K was unsuccessful.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But on the positive note, these 2 conditions are also the reasons why I started my own business 💪🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I am so grateful to all the people in my life who believed in me and supported me on this journey (you know who you are) ❤️

Health is the most precious thing in life✨

After my surgery, to mark the beginning of my new healthy life, I made myself a special pendant. The pendant is set with a citrine, to represent health, and it’s engraved with a special message.
