As always, the event offers a rare behind‑the‑scenes glimpse into the extraordinary world of making at Cockpit — home to over 170 artists and makers across jewellery, ceramics, homewares, fashion accessories, and more. Doors open to the public tomorrow.

Today is National Creativity Day, which feels like the perfect moment to share more about the supported studio space I’m developing for emerging makers at Cockpit Bloomsbury.

I care very deeply about this project and it feels incredibly meaningful to see it begin to take shape. Every detail is being considered with care and intention — from the colour palette and materials to the layout, light, and atmosphere of the space itself. I want the studio to feel both grounded and supportive, somewhere makers can focus, develop confidence and grow within an active creative environment. Here are a few glimpses behind the scenes.

At the heart of the space is the idea of learning through immersion. It responds to a real gap, offering a pathway for up‑and‑coming makers who are within their early years in business, a pivotal stage where practice is being established.

The value lies in the grassroots, in‑situ experience: being based within a working professional studio and gaining insight into the day‑to‑day realities of sustaining a creative practice. While developing their own work, makers will experience the rhythms, challenges, conversations and decision‑making processes that are often hard to access outside an active established‑maker environment.

Warmest thanks to Tex Bishop for capturing these early moments — I love your eye for detail and the way you find beauty within the ordinary. And thank you to Majeda Clarke for helping me see colour in a new light. More to come as the project develops.

With Open Studios on the horizon, I’m putting the finishing touches to new designs and drawing together some beautiful pieces from my collection — contemplating my display.

The tranquil qualities of these aquamarine drop earrings have really caught my attention today, they shift subtly with the light, and there is a gentle movement to the fine metalwork.

I have a select number of complimentary VIP tickets to share. Each ticket includes a plus-one and allows unlimited re-entry to Cockpit Bloomsbury, including the VIP Preview. Visit https://www.instagram.com/yenjewellery/ and the link is in the bio.

Studio Announcement in the Financial Times! Huge thanks to Kate Youde for her thoughtful feature marking 40 years of Cockpit, where I reflect on my ongoing creative practice and an exciting new chapter taking shape.

After more than 25 years of building my practice, I feel a strong, growing desire to share my experience in a more collective way. Alongside developing my own work, I’m creating a small supported studio environment for emerging makers within my new Cockpit Bloomsbury space in Central London.

Selected makers will have space to develop their own practices within a professional studio context — in an environment shaped around development, connection and creative growth.

This project is about offering a considered pathway into professional practice and strengthening the support available at a pivotal stage in a maker’s journey. It feels like the right moment to bring something I care deeply about into reality, with intention and care.

More soon.

Wedding season just became more interesting. Timeless diamond forms revisited through a sculptural lens, inspired by strong silhouettes, fluid movement and refined detail.

Classic jewellery codes are reinterpreted into bold molecular formations — designed to feel enduring rather than traditional. Pieces that move effortlessly through every chapter, occasion and evolution.

Forty years of craft, collaboration, and creative energy at Cockpit Studios — what a milestone to celebrate.

As part of London Craft Week Cockpit is presenting a new exhibition and film marking this anniversary, and I’m honoured to be included among a beautifully curated selection of jewellers and makers.

There will be a private screening and exhibition for patrons and international guests, with public access at Cockpit Bloomsbury Studios on 12 May from 12–6pm.

A weekend of sunshine, whirlwind moments and quiet serenity tucked away in RHS Garden Wisley with Craft in Focus.

So delighted that some key pieces found their new homes. Now it’s back to the studio, I’m holding onto this golden pause, watching the sun dance across these beauties before they too make their way onward. Two sizes of diamond drop, both catching that warm, glowing light.

Grateful to everyone who visited and to those who made the Wisley event so special and of course to the sun for showing up in style.

The verdant feeling of life is instilled within these deeply-toned jewels. Inspired by nature’s depth, movement, and light.

It’s been a pleasure to be immersed in this beautiful setting, surrounded by craftsmanship, creativity and so many enthusiastic visitors.

We’re here today from 9am–6pm, and until 4 May. Come by, explore, and try them on in person.
