Consignment is a reality nobody can deny today. Fewer and fewer retailers are taking risks. Inventory is expensive. Floor space is limited.

Designers are either reluctant or not able to offer/agree to full consignment terms or they fully accept consignment and try & make it work.
Those are usually designers with deep pockets or designers that are looking for a window to legitimize their brand. Lets be clear here, today consignment opens doors to a certain extent. Most retailers will focus their efforts on brands that sell regularly, brands who create solid revenue for them. That is business !

Some succeed to truly partner with retailers and some don’t, and end up despondent about wholesale.

Consignment will most likely work when the jewellery sells, the retailer pays, and everybody’s happy.
But that sounds like the dream scenario ! Especially when the retailer is communicative and pays promptly.

What happens if the jewellery that has been produced at the brand’s expense and risk is slow to sell ?
How to make sure the jewellery is well presented in store, well introduced to clients… and able to capture a growing audience?
Who is in charge of promoting the brand to ensure strong brand awareness building ?

Building a fine jewellery business requires significant investment once again, lets not shy away from this fact, it requires strategy, patience and flexibility. And ideally great jewellery that clients want to buy.

The product is one key thing, and marketing is another one.
A show… any show… is a platform to develop visibility, a show cannot provide any sales guarantee.

Consignment can work when everybody’s putting in the hardwork. But a word of caution: consignment is not for everybody.

We have now been consulting with Turkish fine jewellery brand, SELDA for a year, refining their brand DNA, thus reshaping their brand image and positioning, streamlining product & product pricing, elevating the brand visuals and assets with a first model and still life campaign, produced in London. We have developped better display solutions, improved brand assets like lookbooks, instagram & pinterest.

And have proudly hosted the brand’s first high profile launch event with Sothebys-Paris.

Moreover we have introduced the reimagined brand to international retailers with GOLDRUSH in March and are now progressing with our next phase of business strategy, strenghtening the brand’s aesthetic and story, designing the next collection with a team of experts for international expansion.

We are so thrilled with the evolution of SELDA and we would not have been able to reach this next phase without their trusting & collaborative approach.

Establishing and growing a fine jewellery brand in a very competitive & shifting market is a challenging task that requires strategy, investment, patience and determinatlon.

Each jewel has a symbolic meaning and is designed to bring harmony, safety, love and overall positive energy to the wearer.

Thrilled to be showing Stephanie Cachard’s eponymous jewellery line in Paris, 26-30 June.

Stéphanie Cachard is a second-generation Lebanese jewelry designer and manufacturer, carrying forward the legacy of her father, who founded their family-owned atelier in Beirut in 1975.

She earned a degree in Art Direction from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA), followed by a Diamond Grading diploma from GIA in Florence.

Her work is deeply inspired by the jewelry of the 1960s and 1970s, which she first discovered in her parents’ atelier while growing up, leafing through their old magazines.

Each design is a tribute to that era-a continuation of the bond she shares with her parents, reunited in the same studio where she was raised and where she still works today.

All of her creations are handmade in the atelier, crafted in Silver 925 and 18K gold, ensuring that every piece reflects her family’s enduring dedication to quality and artistry.

George Inaki of Milamore will be May 15 & 16 in Austin, at BYGEORGE Lamar - for a pop with Akki Chan and Milamore jewelry

About the brand: Founded by designer and creative director George Inaki, Akki Chan and Milamore each explore the beauty of craftsmanship, symbolism, and Japanese artistry through a distinct lens. Akki Chan brings a playful, sculptural approach to fine jewelry and objects, blending modern design with traditional techniques and a sense of curiosity and whimsy.

Milamore is celebrated for its refined fine jewelry inspired by the Japanese philosophy of kintsugi - the art of embracing imperfections and repair. The collection combines timeless elegance with meaningful storytelling, creating pieces that feel deeply personal, collectible, and enduring. We’re excited to welcome both brands for a special pop-up next week and showcase the unique world George Inaki has created.
