Growing up in a family where jewellery is more than just an accessory - it is a piece of art passed on from generations - made me in awe of every piece of jewellery I came across. I studied at the London School of Economics and then went on to work in the Financial Services as a banker in London for many years. In 2007 after the birth of my older daughter I decided not to go back to banking. I wan
ted to work in an environment where I could channel my creativity and passion to work directly with skilled artisans that I could in turn help. So in 2009 I decided to go back to studying - this time at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in London - and qualified as an Accredited Jewellery Professional (AJP). I absolutely loved my course, met some wonderful colleagues and found a new love – Silver – and so started my business. I met some wonderful artisans from India and Mexico and initially started buying a few pieces and selling them to stores in London. I then started creating designs and getting them made by the same craftsmen. With time and lots of hard work, excitement and fun, was born my new brand - Milina London. Milina London is all about sourcing, designing and making classy and contemporary jewellery, made using sterling silver, sometimes goldplated, and sometimes set with natural stones and / or freshwater pearls. I work directly with artisans and sometimes small co-operative workshops to ensure quality and also curate and handpick the best designs for you. Every piece of jewellery is then checked by me personally before it is received by you. I hope that you enjoy wearing these creations just as much as I loved designing / sourcing them. Every piece has a personal story for me and I hope that I can share these with you.
