This 0.87ct old mine cut diamond was very probably originally from India. It returned there, to the mountians above the to be given as an engagement ring. The design is a classic cross-over solitaire, in platinum, with some added diamond accents in the band to invoke the river and give the sense of moments in the flow of time.

Which do you prefer, the old or the new?

This video shows two pairs of diamonds, each stone is 1.20 - 1.25cts.

Old cut diamonds have not lost their allure, if anything, since the advent of lab diamonds, they have become more desirable.

Finding a high quality matching pair like this is not easy (look closely and you can see the differences between them, much less so with the modern stones), so there is a rarity aspect too.

The inspiration for these earrings, featuring a pair of bi-colour tourmalines, came from the weathered stone altars and temples of India and Bali...the blocky square shapes with chunky hinges and a slight textured patina on the gold.

Here we have a pair of oval Demantoid Garnets in their diamond halos, the halos being removable. A classic look but the story is in the uniqueness and rarity of the gemstones.
