19 years ago today, a cartoon would air in the United States. Little did anyone know, that series would take the world by storm and be revered as one of the best cartoon series of all time. A year later, that series would also take over the Netherlands, and a then 10 year old Tracey was enthralled.
While Katara would soon become one of her most favorite characters of all time, it would take her 18 years to finally cosplay her. But now that she has, and we are on the cusp of the Live Action coming out, there is no stopping her.
Okay, enough with the 3rd person.
Happy Anniversary, Avatar the Last Airbender! I can't thank and enough for creating a series that is so near and dear to so many hearts. A cartoon that tackled harsh topics such as genocide and war and treated them, along with its audience, with the grace and maturity they deserved.
19 years later, and it is still my favorite series, Katara is still one of my biggest inspirations, and the series is probably one of my earliest hyperfixations. The Legend of Korra also has a special place in my heart and had me learn and accept new things about myself. I don't think I'm being dramatic when I say that this franchise changed my life, and I can't wait to see what Avatar Studios will bless us with in the future! Thank you, Michael, Bryan, and of course for bringing to life one of, if not *the* biggest female role-model of my youth!
