Less than 0.01% of diamonds in the world are naturally pink.We have named this superb emerald-cut pink diamond, weighing twelve carats and set in a ring, “African Princess” in homage to the famous Williamson mine in northern Tanzania whence it comes. In 1947 the mine presented a 57-carat pink diamond to the Queen, then Princess Elizabeth, on the occasion of her wedding to Philip Mountbatten, later Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
