Discovered in Brazil’s Paraíba state not very long ago, Paraiba tourmaline is among the rarest gemstones in existence. Especially valuable when not heat treated, it emits an almost neon-like, blue-green glow that literally mesmerises. Here, an unheated Paraiba tourmaline is set with diamonds in a ring that would not look out of place on the hand of Venus.
