💙A little second chance...

A few months ago I designed these sterling silver memorial bangles. As always, I wore one myself before releasing them..and I'm so glad I did.
Although I loved the design, they just weren't quite right. The bangles were a little too small and more delicate than I'd hoped, so they were remade into bracelets instead.

They're much improved, but the finish still isn't quite up to the standard I expect for my main collection and the design still needs some re-tweaking. Rather than letting these beautiful pieces sit in a drawer, I'd much rather they became part of someone's story.

So I have just five 'perfectly imperfect' memorial bracelets available at a heavily reduced price at just £50 each ( usually £120)
Each can be lovingly filled with ashes, hair or fur and are crafted from 925 sterling silver.
Length : 17-20cms

Sometimes it's the pieces with a few imperfections that end up being loved the most 💖

So..completely unrelated to Jewellery, but I know there’s many horse owners on this page 🙂 …

It seems a certain video about ragwort has sent the horse world into a bit of a frenzy recently!
So, I decided to do a little research myself to help clear up some of the confusion.

Here are some key facts ..

We all know ragwort is poisonous, but it's important to understand how it causes harm. It doesn't usually have an immediate effect ..instead it causes irreversible liver damage over time.

While ragwort is growing, it has a very bitter taste, so most horses and livestock will avoid eating it unless they're extremely hungry! The biggest danger comes when it's dried in hay or haylage ..at that point it loses its bitter taste but remains just as toxic! 😞

An average 500 kg horse would need to consume around 20 kg of ragwort over its lifetime before clinical signs may develop. That might sound like a small amount, but when you consider a horse typically eats 10-12 kg of forage every day it could very quickly consume that amount.

There IS a legal requirement to remove ragwort from agricultural land, and you can be reported if you don’t!

So rather than getting caught up in the online debate, the important message is simple: ragwort is toxic, it can cause serious harm to livestock, and it should be managed responsibly.

I hope that helps clarify things a little! And honestly, if there was an excuse not to spend hours pulling ragwort, I'd happily take it! Thankfully it’s very sparse on our land 🙈
