Tonight at the grand opening of Elysium in Swansea

So proud of my friend Dan Staveley and all he has achieved in turning the entire department store building formally J T Morgan into an arts centre with gallery, over 70 studios (all full) workshop spaces and a coffee shop.

With help from Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru | Arts Council of Wales they delivered their project on time and in budget. An incredible feat and a vision imagined turned into reality. The sky is not the limit and this space cannot be underestimated in importance for the arts scene in Wales.

The coffee shop was designed by one of my very best friends Claire Staveley showing her skill and passion for interior design. I have been lucky enough to work with Claire on many projects including the chandelier and textiles for my gallery and our silk scarves collection (available on my web site!)

Lovely to catch up with friends and colleagues tonight in a very packed building! So to name a few...

It was a thrill and an honour to be asked back to my old university Birmingham School of Jewellery to once again be on the judging panel for their Design for Industry Awards. The students and presentations this year were even more exceptional and each year the standard are raised even higher thanks to the dedicated and talented staff, people I am so proud to also call my friends and

My award of business mentoring went to two talented graduates Ruby Mccormick of and Imogen Phillips of who I know have brilliant futures ahead in the jewellery industry.

It was wonderful to see old and new friends, colleagues and tutors again The lovely Sue Ettrick of and the talented Alex the amazing silversmith Andrew Macgowan (soon to have his work at my gallery) and the unstoppable force and inspiration that is of at the prize giving.

Also great to catch up with .foot from where I am proud to be a Fellow, championing British crafts.

It was held in my old design studio in the iconic school where I originally studied and it also became well know as the wksp on the TV show All the Glitters! (For those that remember I fainted on that floor once after stabbing my finger with a hand engraver!)

I was joined on the trip by fellow Welsh jeweller and silversmith and we just had to pose for a picture outside Thomas Fattorini factory It was significant because we are both proud winners of the Gold Medal for Craft and Design at the National Eisteddfod of Wales and this is the company that made them! ❤️
