Serving 17th century Italian wife energy.... delicate, deadly, and one drop away from freedom. Soft lace, sharp wit, and the kind of beauty that would’ve had the neighbours whispering ‘Aqua Tofana’ under candlelight. Delicate enough for a duchess, dangerous enough for the history books

I have never stopped today so thank you to everyone who's popped in or messaged! Here's are a few more pics of what we have in stock atm since i had barely even started today before the bangles were snapped up!

They were super popular over xmas and as I said yesterday, the supplier more than doubled the cost price a few wks ago so I won't be stocking them anymore since its not really fair to ask people to pay that much for something that they would have gotten at a fraction of a cost just last month! However, I also know there are still some people who did love them and haven't managed to get them so if you want one special ordered then I can order them in and I'll just charge you the same £60. I won't make any money on them but i also won't lose any so I can still get them for anyone who would like one ordered in. Just mind n share the post or come back some other time and buy something I will make a bit profit on 😂

Part 2!

As much as I'm probably easy to recognise in the town, I'm not someone who is the most comfortable in the spotlight so I was really nervous to a- have my photo all over fb and b- just put a bit of my story out there but if there's one thing I do love talking about it is the shop and my parents, especially my dad!!

He was my hero and I was so lucky to have him as a best friend aswell. I inherited his entire personality but with my mums introverted nature 😂. Ill forever be greatful to have been raised by such wonderful people who have given me such a blessed life and this opportunity to give back to the town that my grandparents and parents adored so much.

My grandparents moved here from Glasgow and not one day did my gran take for granted that we have this beautiful beach and my grandpa was was constantly out golfing or in the amateur musicals and photography clubs and a dozen other things! Both were very active members of the community and we all know dad was always out and about, cowboy boots on and a whisky in hand.

I also love the fact that as a kid, i grew up with a lot of folk whos families also had business and now they've also taken over the riegns! Local business meetings just looks like being in school again n im really proud we've kept these long standing cornerstones of Leven going ❤️

"We're the only jewellers from here to St. Andrews, many of them shut so people who need any kind repairs from the coastal villages will head to me to get it done, which is good for the town as a whole. I'm just trying to keep it going, maintain that level of standard that was built up over the decades.

The community has always been so supportive, when Dad died there was such an outpouring of support. This was almost 6 years ago now and people forget that we're still here, with Dad, he was so well known, people would pop in just to speak to him. I have another job so that reminder that we're still here isn't always around, that's just life I'm afraid, I would be here more but it's not viable. We have our wee corner and that's enough I think. We had a customer actually who'd come from along the coast and asked in another shop if there was a jewellers, only to be told there wasn't. She got back to Elie and was told we were here and made the journey back to come in, so even shops in town don't know I'm here.

Dad was a character, he was born in Congo. He had come over here in his late teens and had been in the Congolese military, he was a fighter pilot and wanted to fly commercial planes and found himself in Perth. He met Mum in Kirkcaldy and when he had to return home, the two of them continued to write to one another and they decided they wanted to be together. He came to Oxford to finalise his pilots license and returned to here. For the first year in the UK he couldn't work due to visa restrictions, when he did he worked in a steel foundry before taking a job in the shop.

Dad loved it here, he loved being a pilot and being in the air. He loved Scottish people, the culture. He found the accents and sayings and phrases funny. He played dominoes every Tuesday, he loved that. He would speak to everybody and anybody and they knew him. He always had the biggest smile on his face and half the time you would say something and you could never tell if he was joking or not, he had a Scottish style dry sense of humour. He had amazing stories as well, you'd have liked him. He was talkative but was never loud and preferred not to be the centre of attention. He was always impeccably dressed in a shirt and tie too, he would wear cowboy boots at night and the most colourful shirts you can imagine. He just accepted everybody for who they were, he made time for people. He's always described as an old school gentleman and he certainly was that.

My mum retired 2 years ago but still comes in to help out between my other job and my dogs. Everybody knows Mum, Doreen from Mastertons. She's just so warm and kind, she was the introvert to my Dad who was very much an extrovert. I couldn't have kept this place open without her, she has so much knowledge about all of this than I ever will.

With the suddeness of Dad dying, there was so much I never had time to ask despite being with him every single dad in that last year of his life, what he didn't teach I observed but him and Mum knew it all and I'm lucky to have her here to help. It was her Mum and Dad who had it before and she wanted to see it continue on even when Dad died. My mum loves her customers and there's a few of them that she's known for decades who always Come back. To her, they're friends, people she's known all their lives and hers.

I'm lucky I have great parents"

Im so greatful to Ryan for reaching out and wanting to help after the robbery! As much as my initial reaction to the theft was to think, "is keeping the shop open worth dealing with things like this?" Ryan is yet another example of what a kind and supportive community we have and proves that yes, dealing with one bad apple is most definitely worth it to be part of such a strong and loyal community!

I genuinely don't believe you'd find this sense of community many other places so thank you Ryan and thank you Leven ❤️

"My name Janaya and I'm a jeweller at G Masterton jewellers and gift boutique on Leven High Street.

The business has been here in Leven for 125 years and I've basically grown up in the shop. I was here when my Grandparents had it, my parents worked here, my auntie as well. It was never my plan to be here but when Dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2018, we moved from the shop in the middle of the high street down to where we are now. Mum wasn't due to retire at this point and we needed a jeweller to be here.

My Dad, Bob, was so well loved locally, he was literally dying and still doing repairs in his bed for people because that's just who he was, he never wanted disappoint his customers. Much to our annoyance by the way, him sitting there with his tools working away, he was just that determined and would never let anybody down. It was a Saturday that Dad passed, 5pm and that's when the shop would shut, it was as if he was waiting till then to pass.

A few weeks after, work had piled up so I just came in to keep busy, Dad was determined to beat it and would show me a few things. There was never THAT conversation about what would happen if he died, he was adamant he was beating it. I took all he showed me and watched lots of YouTube tutorials, I just took it on. When Mum retired 2 years ago, I downsized again but still did repairs and selling jewellery.

I feel like it's not mines, they built it all and I'm here just keeping it going, to maintain that standard they set down. Even going back to my grandparents, Gran had the China department up the stairs and her mindset was that she'd never sell anything to a customer that she wouldn't have in her own home. She didn't follow trends, she was just honest. She was kind, I remember kids coming in when I was wee and she'd give them wee bears, it's just who she was.

Dad was kind too, he'd waive people away when he would do small repairs and not take their money. So I try to do the same, give back when I can because the community is why we're still here. It also keeps Dads memory alive too, it's his workshop and his tools where the works done. It's seeing the happiness you bring to people who bring things in that need repaired, what it means to them to have it fixed, so it can be treasured for the next generation. Jewellery is meaningful after all, it's invaluable to people regardless of its monetary value. When it's all you have left of someone, it's gives me a lot of pride to be able to help them and I treat every piece of jewelry as if it was my own"

Aww I'm so chuffed, the police have been down and taken my statement! I won't be petty and add in "finally".... its done now thats all that matters!

Also, SHE HAS BEEN CHARGED! why no-onee thought to actually let me know that, instead of leaving me gutted thinking that nothing was being is beyond me..... but yes, when she was originally lifted (the very next day), she was also charged for the theft from the shop!

So i guess thats it all done now. It was never the case that they weren't doing their job, they just took their time doing the admin because she'd already bn lifted for it anyways i guess?! My jewellery is gone n that sucks but I'm glad they are holding her accountable for it and hopefully the courts will give her more than just a slap on the wrist!

I also got an update to the complaint i put in online which I was very shocked about since it said it could take 6 months.... but within 24 hrs they got back to me and said they'd investigate my issues so we will see what the outcome of that is once they check what she had on her when she was lifted n what they returned to her!

I still feel someone could have sent a wee text 10 days ago to let me know they were charging her etc but at least they've now updated me and have taken my statement so that should be everything that is needed for it to go to the next stage! Fingers crossed the courts now do their part and slap her with a pretty hefty sentence so the High St can be a little safer for us all
