Last night was the opening of Leith Makers "Makers Mark" exhibition. I show purposefully curated to showcase sustainability at it's best!
Thanks to everyone who came. It was great meeting some of the other artists.

Installation day at Leith Makers Makers Mark exhibition.
My upcycled brooches and earrings are ready for the opening tomorrow, along with the Plastic Collage: Repurposed Possibilities 4 and an upcycled pink textile heart machine-stitched picture.
Come and enjoy all the sustainable art and crafts at 105 Leith Walk Edinburgh. Opening Wednesday 17th June at 7pm. Opening hours Wednesday to Sunday 11am to 5 30pm.

Come along to the opening night of Leith Makers "Makers Mark" exhibition this Wednesday evening at 7pm at 105 Leith Walk, Edinburgh. This exhibition is focusing on sustainability and slow making.
I'll be exhibiting my brooches, earrings, Plastic Collage: Repurposed Possibilities #4 and a pink textile heart picture. They are all made from repurposed textiles, inflatables or plastic bags. Using materials diverted from landfill is important to me.
Come and check out all the incredible artists showcasing their sustainability-focused creativity.
The exhibition is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 5.30pm until the 28th June, upstairs. Unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible 😞

It means so much to me that you are interested in sustainability and want to find out more about what I do. Supporting my small business by making a purchase really enables me to continuing doing what I love.

I find it hard to photograph the sterling silver earring studs as they are so small.
This time I have tried making short videos of each pair to show off how they look from different angles as a photograph can make things look quite one dimensional.
This new batch of earrings includes earrings made from pale pink neon beach sandals, a yellow pneumatic roller used when you are canoeing down a river, orange neon pool float, purple inflatable chair, green and blue paddling pools, and inflatable animal toys"inflatimals".
Does the video idea work do you think? Or would a close up photograph work better?

It is really important to both myself and that as much as possible is reused, creating a circular economy, stopping waste going into landfill.
For those of you who don't know Edinburgh Zoo donate their broken "inflatimals" - inflatable animal toys - to me to create new upcycled products.
I went the other day to collect them. Watch this space for what they become 😊
