RtP litter picking log
Tues 8 Dec 2020
3 bags at Sarah's Cafe on A511.
One bag, 4.30-5.30 pm Ashby.
Monday 7 December 2020
Today, got out late afternoon and picked the A511 Ashby bypass, cycleway side, from the layby (there is only one) to the bridge (there is only one). Two bags, plus a bag of ali cans. About 40 minutes then dusk crept up slowly.
Could not get a piece of right angle bar in my litter bag, as it was about 5 metres long and ~50k. Have reported it on Love Clean Streets, which is the most amazing way to report litter, and unusual items, that should not be on your street or road. #2122112, which is a surreal number.
Gone very cold now. A chill to the bones.
1pm had a call from IW of NWLDC. Dumped all my litter-picking woes, worries, and wrongs upon his shoulder. We should applaud our council officers, who often have to put up with people like me.
Sunday 6 Dec
Picked the layby at Sarah's Cafe (closed today) of 24 bags plus 2 bags of recyclable bottles&cans (b&c). Took 3 hours, but did not finish ... tbc. Wore protective clothing, and a song suddenly comes to mind ... ding, di**le, ding, ding, d**g .. Ghostbusters!
Saturday 5 December
10 bags.
A511 Ashby Bypass, north side layby (there is only one).
Found a Rolex watch. Not working. Glass steamed up.
Timpsons said it was a fake.
Now need to find a blacksmith with an anvil and hardened steel sledgehammer to fix the little rolex.
