All my work uses musical material such as Vinyl Records, Guitar Strings, Microphone Cables, Clarinet Reeds, Amp K***s or Fused Cassette Tapes. My aim is to keep something mentally close to you in the form of music, physically close to you, with a little bit of style along the way!

I’ve been working on a top-up for galleries today which has been lovely. But also the inevitable price increase.

If you follow any other jewellers on here you may know the price of precious metals is wild right now (cheers Donald)
So that means I will be increasing the retail price of my work soon. As much as it sucks to pay more for anything right now, it shows that my work has value, it shows that your jewellery holds value and it shows fairness and worth to other creatives ✌🏻

Today has been about packaging and finishing touches. Over the past few months I’ve been putting together a collection for the Winter event at Harlow Carr.
I still have a few more silver items to make, but the next few working days are all about putting holes in earring cards, folding boxes and sticking on the tiniest of labels. ✨

About the melody

Melodies is inspired by a passion for music, a desire to re-use redundant materials and a bit of music nostalgia brought up to date. My products are all made from original musical materials including cassette tapes, vinyl records, guitar strings, drumsticks and amp k***s amongst others. By using various processes I have manipulated these materials to create my pieces with everything being hand cut and finished in my workshop in Leeds. I have started my business after years of making Jewellery for fun and training in the art sector for 7 years. I sell my work in shops throughout the UK as well as online and at special events. I hope all my pieces are enjoyed as much as I love making them.
