Lapdog is a lightweight moulded tray, with an attached comfortable corduroy cushion. It has 72 different compartments and apertures, which are suitable for holding all sorts of craft equipment, tools and materials. Also included are a reversible A4 / A5 work board, 2 dense foam pads, 2 lidded pots, a self-heal cutting mat, marked in inches and centimetres, and a transparent cover lid, to protect

work when "Lapdog" is not in use. It is suitable for all sorts of crafts, including card making, paper crafts, entangle, jewellery making, parchment craft, quilling, model-making, drawing & painting - it's up to you! Lapdog was designed in the UK by Ann. It is a unique piece of equipment - great for when you want to relax in front of the TV, chat with friends & family and still craft! Lapdog is also suitable to take on holiday, whether to a caravan, cottage or hotel, as although it is lightweight and portable, it has been designed to be tough and durable, too. Store your materials, tools and equipment, take it away with you, and "Carry on Crafting!"

General information

Ann Brown B.A.(Hons) has worked in a design environment for all of her professional life. Ann started her career in fashion design and followed this by opening her own successful craft ceramics business. This changed when she had a young family, so at that time she worked as a professional cake artist / decorator, specialising in wedding and celebration cakes. As her children grew up, Ann moved into retail interior design, but when she decided to leave, in order to become self employed, Main Street Crafts was developed. At first her focus was on handmade and bespoke greeting cards and wedding stationery, but whilst doing that, she realised there was a need for a product which made it possible to craft, but still spend time with other people, rather than be isolated in a craft or work-room all the time! Searching the market, she found that there was nothing which fitted the bill, so she decided to design something herself. This was just the start - what became known as "Lapdog" became the focus of Ann's business. Joined by her partner Ian, they have researched and developed the idea. Many hours, miles, and a few sleepless nights later, after several prototypes "Lapdog" was trademarked, registered, and ready to launch to the market. The launch will be supported by advertising and editorials in several craft publications in October 2014.It will also be demonstrated for the first time at the ICHF craft fair at the NEC, Birmingham on the 7th & 8th November 2014
