Hi everyone, just a quick update,
To let u know the process quickly...
When u set up a tattoo shop you build/set it up. Then apply for council licencing, the council send out an SMPT2, SMPT3 and an inspection checklist, the SMPT2 has to be on your premises door for 21 days to give the public a chance to dispute the licence, during that 21 days we work through the checklist to ensure all facilities are the way they should be and relevant signage and notices are displayed etc.
After 21 days you fill out the SMPT3 which is the notice of compliance to let them know you displayed the notice for 21 days, done the checklist and are now ready for inspection.
Then an inspector contacts you to come and do the inspection.
I was contacted 4 days ago with a date for inspection and told to make sure I'd completed the checklist which they had attached another copy of just incase, I already had a printed copy so didnt need it.
So yesterday the inspector woman came in and instantly said nope this isn't OK, your wall has to go floor to ceiling, I showed her my printed copy of the rules/checklist and said ' no it says here a partition should be in between the reception and treatment room' she then said no look at MY list, her list was 60 pages long and very different from the council list.
Apparently environmental health have a completely different list which we only get to see once they are coming for inspection (this is my third licence) ive had 6ft partitions in my first shop and passed inspection no problem and my last shop had no doors on any of the rooms and I passed that inspection no problem too.
Question is how am I meant to completely re-do my room in the 2 days between receiving the 'environmental health' checklist and my inspection day?
So right now I have to have my partition wall extended another 7-8ft to the ceiling which as you can see in pictures I need to get scaffolding etc put in for the work to get done.
Unfortunately this looks like itll be another 2 weeks till I open, she has got the licence ready to go, I just need to email her once its done and itll get sent straight out.
In the meantime im away to write a very long complaint about the situation to Fife Council !! 😡😡
