Hi everyone,
I am taking a bit of a break for a few months as I have SATS coming up at school and I need to concentrate on them and then Id like to enjoy my last few months at Primary School.
I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported me the last 4 months you have all been so kind and generous. It’s been a really tough time but this little business has helped me and my Mum in times when we have needed a positive focus.
Together we have managed to raise £657.94 for the local community nurses who help stroke victims recover after their strokes.
We are going to ask they buy an IPAD and apps with the money we have raised. We asked the operations manager of the Hull and East Riding Stroke Service how this helps, this was her response….
“This will mean that someone who had to finish their speech therapy input after 6 weeks can continue on for a further 6 weeks, working with the loan ipad and apps to practice the skills they have begun to learn. We can offer a check call and any troubleshooting they may need during that time. Their progress will be reviewed again after this time.
Throughout the year this will mean that 8 patients can continue their speech therapy input for a further 6 weeks as the ipad will be cleaned and then passed on to the next patient.
Speech difficulties after stroke can mean that patients are more prone to low mood, so you can see that it isn’t just their speech that you are helping. By helping someone improve their speech, it also improves their wellbeing and can also reduce their dependence on a carer.”
I am proud that I have helped so much and when I don’t have so many school commitments I will be back with new designs.
This is a picture taken recently of me my mum and Rocky my dog ❤️🐶. My mum is doing so much better now after her two strokes she is very lucky and she has recovered really well since her heart operation too, she has alot of issues with short term memory loss but I am just happy she is okay and can walk and talk okay ❤️.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported me
Love Nellie ###
