We are delighted to recognise the following individuals whose dedication, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond have already made a significant impact for cadets and volunteers alike.
👏 Samantha Mccarthy
Squadron SNCO, 1379 (Leiston) Squadron, Norfolk & Suffolk Wing
Nominated by Sqn Ldr Stuart Smith
Appointed just over a year ago, Sgt McCarthy has already made an exceptional contribution. By fully immersing herself in shooting and qualifying as both a SAAI and RCO, she has enabled shooting to be delivered regularly at squadron level and now across Sector 4. Leading her first sector‑level event this weekend, her drive and enthusiasm are creating outstanding opportunities for cadets to develop new skills and confidence.
👏 Mrs Rachael Burgess
Civilian Committee Chairperson, 356 (Felixstowe) Squadron, Norfolk & Suffolk Wing
Nominated by Flt Lt Reece Seaman
In just five months as Chair, Mrs Burgess has made remarkable strides in strengthening the Squadron’s Civilian Committee. Through personal fundraising, resolving long‑standing Gift Aid and governance issues, and demonstrating exceptional leadership, her efforts are already delivering tangible benefits for training resources and squadron life. An outstanding contribution in a very short time.
👏 CI Joy Eley
Adjutant, 2160 (Sleaford) Squadron, Trent Wing
Nominated by Flt Lt Karen Turner
CI Eley has settled in brilliantly at 2160 Squadron, completing every administrative task with precision, reliability, and a consistently positive attitude. Always ready to help and support others, she has quickly become a trusted and valued member of the team, bringing professionalism and cheerfulness to everything she does.
