If you have an Acer (Japanese Maple) now's the best time to check them for seeds. Seeds need to undergo a process of stratification before they will germinate i.e. go through a period of hot and cold. You can mimic this with the fridge and airing cupboard, but I prefer the magic pot technique. Basically, lable up a pot put a mix of compost and leaves in it, make sure the worms can get at it, then leave it undisturbed in the garden for a year. With luck, acer seedlings in the Spring 😊🤞🌱

Sadly, it seems the exceptionally low winter temperatures have killed off all of my dahlia this year ☹️ Even sadder, I'm assuming the same has happened to those I sold last year 😥. If you bought dahlia off me and they have died, drop me a line and I'll happily drop you off a compensatory pot of mixed Snapdragon 😊 when they get big enough x
