Proposal amongst Japanese mountains, anyone?! Congratulations to this beautiful couple who have started their journey. E entrusted me with a description of P, her likes and hobbies alongside a list of what he would like in a ring. Together we combined my aesthetic and designed a balance of 18 carat yellow, sapphires and synthetic diamond.

S P E A K E R ✨

I was thrilled to be invited to speak at this year’s Guild of Enamelers Conference. I spoke on Friday about the facets of my creative practice and how these are connected by my values.

Throughout the talk, I identified three key areas of my practice: tacit, collaborative and teaching. All of these are connected by my key values: integrity, connection, development and curiosity.

We gathered some key values from those at the conference and it was wonderful to see how we were able to understand the guild and its values much more by the end.

Thank you to all of those who set the conference up and guided me as I got lost across the campus! I shall certainly be back ✨

It’s always amazing to see how much good quality materials can take. This involved cutting, stretching, adding new gold in and soldering before filing and finishing. That’s a lot of heat and movement but here it’s looking good as new. ✨

This duo of rings is still very much in my heart for the impact of the story behind it. That’s why my work is holdable memory - you wear your story with you.

Working with clients is a collaboration that takes vulnerability and trust. But that’s not the only collaboration here- thank you for the phenomenal CAD work you did, for the laser engraving, for the hallmarking and Leandra for the setting - even when I threw micro flush set black diamonds at you you didn’t flinch haha.
It’s taken me a long time to understand that being part of a chain is stronger and every link that I trust has been vetted and chosen with intention.

S M E L T
What does it look like when you bring me your old gold to make into something new? Well first of all I unset any stones systematically, and keep them in storage so that they are safe and sound. Then the metal gets a rather toasty treatment to become an ingot, which is rolled out into the dimensions that I need. This is a poor for a 9 carat gold to remodel an engagement ring into a new grain set band.

Friday evening was the Private View for anda real marker in history. I’m so honoured to have been able to speak alongside - our godfather - about the legacy and future of Alloy.
