What a wonderful Gorsedh Spring Grove Gathering we had!

Many thanks to all who came and contributed to our sharing, especially to Dearbhaile Bradley for facilitating a conversation on 'what is being Bardic?', a subject we could ponder and discuss for many hours, Clare Rosalee Burke for the delicious food, to our bards for the excellent offerings around the fire to close, and to Madeleine Land and Briony Plant for capturing this moment.

Gorsedh members expressed how grounding this gathering felt, and how blessed we are to be able to come together in community.

/I\

22/03/2026 at St Edmunds Hall, Glastonbury 2-5pm

Join us as we embrace the greening of the earth and celebrate the balance of the season.

Grove gatherings are an opportunity to come together as members of the Gorsedh, listen to talks, share information and skills, deepen our connection to the turning of the seasons, and enjoy each other's company, as well as making our own excellent entertainment of course!

What to expect:
2pm - Welcome circle, followed by Gorsedh meeting.
2:45pm - Tea break.
3pm - "What is being 'Bardic'?" with Elder Bard Dearbhaile Bradley.
4pm - Bardic space for sharing music, storytelling and poetry.
5pm - Closing circle.

Grove Gatherings are for initiated members of Gorsedh Ynys Witrin. Partners, close family and friends interested in the Gorsedh are welcome to attend, but these aren't public events. Kids welcome.

Tea and coffee will be provided. Please bring cake or snacks to share. Magic hat donations towards costs of hall hire and refreshments appreciated.

There will also be delicious vegetarian pea and mint soup, and hearty beef stew, with spelt gluten free scones available for £2 towards ingredients, provided by one of our Ovates, Clare.

Please share date and time with members of the Gorsedh who are not online/social media.

3 pm This Sunday What is being Bardic?
What makes a bardic song, story or poem different? Or is it a false distinction?
With Spring Equinox representing balance, I’d like to open our discussion by considering the roles of Brigid and Lugh as the deities who represent the feminine and masculine aspects of creativity. And how these relate to the Awen as the source of bardic inspiration.
