Time for another not-so-regular workshop update!

That grand plan I had to post a weekly progress update? Turns out weekends have quite a habit of filling themselves.

You can't spend every weekend hiding away building a workshop when there's friends and family to see, flu to get over, the sun's making an appearance, and there's fizz to be drunk! 😉

The good news is that, despite my questionable commitment to posting updates, we've actually made some decent progress... and by we, I just mean Ciaran - to be fair I've been poorly! 😅

So, if you've got a spare minute, stick the kettle on (or crack open some Tuesday-night fizz... I'm joking. Kind of.) and have a look at the latest...

Thought I'd have a bit of fun while documenting the renovation journey and mix things up a bit from the usual videos of my face and voice 🤪

This time, starring the husband, who seemed far too excited about knocking a wall down! 💪🧱

I didn't even get a look in, despite always wanting to have a go at knocking down a wall myself for some reason 😂

You'll be glad to know I spared you the footage of my sweaty self lugging bricks two at a time from the workshop to the top of the driveway... but the good news is they're all gone to the dump now 🥳

Between us, we've nearly put our backs out this weekend, so I think a well-earned rest is in order before next weekend's renovation antics begin 😅

All the materials for getting “Zoe’s Awesome Workshop” into a usable state have finally arrived! 🙌

A huge crane dropped everything at the top of the driveway, so Ciaran and I - mainly Ciaran, obviously 😂 - had the small task of carrying sheets of ply, plasterboard, and insulation all the way down the slope. Not an easy job!

We’re pretty sure this outbuilding was once an outdoor toilet, complete with a dividing wall for two cubicles 🚽😅 After clearing out years of shed gubbins (and evicting the resident false widow spiders 🕷), Ciaran got stuck in with the ankle grinder and sledgehammer to knock through the internal wall and open the whole space up. Seriously dirty work, but it’s already starting to take shape!

While all this has been going on, we’ve had to cut the power to my current workshop, so for now I’m not taking on any new bespoke jewellery work for MION.

Don’t panic though - I can still do quotes and design work, and I’ll be back to business as usual as soon as the new workshop is up and running… hopefully in a month or two 🤞✨
