Hello here again with my last post with for today.
Itās important to me to make jewellery that is enjoyable to wear on the body as much as how it is designed. Iāve been so happy to create bespoke pieces for a special event or with a clientās sentimental or heirloom metal. I hope that the wearer might find joy in wearing it as well as a historical connection.
The soft tactility of the wood elements has really brought out an unexpected facet to the pieces. Because of the nature of the wood, I enjoy that every carving is slightly different and discovering how the final form will come out. It seems only fitting that a structure I may create has its own nature to follow. I am really intrigued how the interplay of the material characteristics are now coming back to inform the shapes of the new work. In the end I hope the pieces will bring joy in exploring a place in time and the landscape I am continually creating.
If you donāt already, you can follow my progress ; I often post stories of work in progress as well as the occasional antics of Clyde my flurfy Maine C**n cat and her obsession with paper and water.
If you want to see my work in its entirety, come along to the Tea Green Winter Market at the fantastic Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery this Saturday only. Iāll be there 10-5 with a wide array of fantastic makers - so come along and get all your holiday gifts š«
(Note a new passel of makers will appear on Sunday as well)
Thanks for following along today āØ
