I met a customer on the harbour bridge to try on his bangle this morning, it must have looked like dodgy dealings from afar! 😅

This has been an interesting commission, the silver was melted down from his finds as a metal detectorist! It’s a chunky size, 12mm wide and 2mm deep, I needed my arm strength and big hammer to shape it. Still work in progress and a bit more tweaking needed but not far from ready for Hallmarking! ⚓️ I will add the start to finish photos in another post.

A new delivery of silver and a small amount of white gold arrived yesterday! 🩶

This will be commissions for a hexagonal bangle, mermaid pendants, wedding rings, a drop pendant and then stock on top of that! I’m certainly going to be kept busy!

You can now book dates for beginners jewellery making workshops for September and October. I won’t be offering them again then until the new year!

Make a ring or a bangle, a maximum of four people per session, suitable for complete beginners. Choose a Workshop Wednesday or Sunday afternoon. Strictly over 16’s due to insurance purposes. Priced from £120 per person and held at the inSilver and Gold, 65 The Old High Street. Folkestone.

I have had a later start this morning as I’m dog sitting for my parents 🥰

My usual walk to work is 10 minutes, today with a trailing woofer, it was 20-25 minutes!

Rhaggy is going to be more of a window feature than a burglar deterrent!

Open until 4.30 today, closed tomorrow then open on Wednesday 11-5.

Walking beachside to the shop this morning, I noticed the way that the waves were landing on the corrugated pebble landscape. It made me think of my Wave bangles and the photoshoot that I did of them on Sunny Sands beach 🌊📷

These bangles are great to wear alone or as a stack. I have currently got three in stock: small, medium and large priced at £95 each, other sizes made to order. All handmade in recycled sterling silver and Hallmarked in Birmingham. Find them online or at the shop🛍️

Gold Vermeil, do you know what it is?

It’s pronounced ‘vermay’ and it is sterling silver jewellery plated with a thicker layer of gold plate than your usual fashion jewellery.

I introduced it to my collection last year to see if it was popular and it has been! I will be adding more to my range over the coming weeks.

For now, here is the gold vermeil Ribbon Twist collection, available online and at the shop. Open from 10.30-5 today and Saturday, 11-4 Sunday.

The Old High Street at 6.15am this morning! ☀️

I felt the sea calling me this morning so I got up and enjoyed a bit of colour in the sky as I headed to Sunny Sands beach and the harbour.

The shop is closed today - Wednesday as it was a busy bank holiday weekend and I feel the need for an extra day off!

Open as usual tomorrow, 10-5.
